Hawkeye,

The top AR, what colors did you use? More specificaly, how did you do it. That is exactly the type of cammo job I want to do with my AR.

Here is the only one I have done right now, and my first attempt at Kryloning a firearm:

This one is going to be done very soon, EOTech and everything.  It won't be done in the same pattern.

Pulling fireguard with the soon to be painted M4gery.

Wes1:

What are you using to apply the finish, airbrush?  And what finish are you using.  I love the pattern, and would love to try and duplicate something similar to that on some of my hunting/shooting tools.

This is generation 2 of my camo progression.
I'd just installed the Aimpoint RAS II and had previously had a SWAN Sleeve on the rifle.

There is Alumahyde coyote, od and dark earth on the rifle with the old Testors camo job on the crizzappy stock.

In the woods.

Originally I was going to highlight the Alumahyde with tan and black Alumahyde but thought I'd try some other paint first.
I've since added a richer green a lighter tan and richer brown Testors because the tones of the Alumahyde were so similar and  the Alumahyde has a satin finish whereas the Testors is flat.
Here are the best(read lousy) pics I have of the new paint job.
Generation 3

The mag and buttpad are not usually on the rifle and were for contrast only.
The stock has got to go.

MARPAT boonie, Woodland cover on K-pot and Multicam boonie also in pic for comparison.

I've found it dificult to evaluate the camoflage effectiveness on my own because I knew where the items I placed were.
I took this picture with the focus on the organic foreground to see how readily my eye was drawn to the foreign objects.hinking.gif

I'm not thrilled with this camo either and may strip it and start over.
The stock is definitely geting pulled b/c I primed it first and the paint easily strips down to the white primer with light to medium use.
