Is that barrel an HBAR, or tapered under the handguards?

THE UPPER MINUS ACOG BUT WITH SIGHTS ONLY WEIGHS 4 LB 10 OZ. FEELS EXTREMELY LIGHT IN THE HANDS.

I want an upper just like this, but with a medium-weight mid-length gas system bead blasted stainless 1/8 or 1/7 barrel...  With the Troy sights, but without the ACOG.  How much will that run me?

Email Wes, he is building something very similar for me right now with a 1:7 Douglas 16.5" mid-length,  12" LaRue & Troy FS.

Junior Member #23 of the Weight Watching Weenies, checking in!

Wes, if this (very, very, nice upper) is 4lb, 10oz, how much is the stock LMT upper w/o the 12.0?

ASHOOTER,

I AM BUILDING PCURTIS EXACTLY WHAT YOU DESCRIBE. INDEED, IT IS THE SECOND ONE WITH THIS SAME EXACT BARREL FOR HIM. HE MUST LIKE IT.

PAUL AND I HAVE SETTLED ON WHAT WE REFER TO AS OUR "MOD 1" RECCE CARBINE: 16" DOUGLAS (FOR NOW - LILJA AND KRIEGER COMING) PREMIUM MATCH GRADE STAINLESS MID-LENGTH, CONTOURED EXACTLY LIKE OUR 16" MID-LENGTH 6.8 SPC BARRELS.... THE "MOD 1" PRICE WILL BE $1600 DELIVERED FEDEX. THIS IS DUE SOLELY TO THE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE OF THE MOD 0 LILJA VS THE MOD 1 DOUGLAS BARREL...

Oh my gawd Wes, I think I'm gonna be sick... and to think I was trying to pay off my credit cards.  I wish you'd screw up once in while so I could convince myself to NOT pay your premium prices for your DAMNED PERFECTIONIST CREATIONS!!  If you were a woman, we would call you an "evil temptress".

Shit, I gotta go.   I need to go look at my credit card statements and open up the gunsafe and see if there's anything I can sell to come up with the money for this thing.

You don't need an extra kidney do you?

sigh... you'll be hearing from me.

I frequently stop at LaRue Tactical down the road from my home......I have regeared with their products and they are top notch.  I picked up a 7.0 rail last week and with a little persuasion Mr. La Rue personalized it with "Property of (and my name)".  If you are interested in having the same done for yourself, give him a call...it will cost $100.

Wes,
How difficult is it to install the LaRue handguard over the PRI SPR gas block?

I seem to recall someone else saying that the LaRue needed to be dremeled out in some areas in order to go on. I might be thinking of the wrong gas block though, but I was just curious as this is very similar to my next build.

Nice looking gun BTW!
