From Jarod at Bushmaster:

I have brought this Poll to Management, and have got them to agree to run Post-Ban 16" Hvy 1x7 twist barrels. We will do this as a special run, but I need a minimum of 200 barrels. Give me a call & I'll start taking orders. No guarantee this will happen unless we get the 200 qty. I did my part, now lets see you do yours! Here is the "Special" pricing:

Barrel only- $166.25
Barrel Assy- $189.95
A2 Upper w/o Bolt & C/H- $375.25
A2 Upper W/Bolt & C/H- $508.25

*For A3 Configuration Add $94.95 (for handle, flat top is no extra charge)

*Shipping will be $13.50 on any one of the above.*

Well there you have it guys.  The dirt cheap 1/7 barrel you can have profiled to whatever you want is going to be available if we get 200 orders.  This poll and thread is in the Bushmaster Industry section.

Troy, What does Kurt charge for turning one down? So, these are only in PB? Do you know what threading runs?
Sure would like to know a ball park time on reaching the count and getting one.

Not to sound completely ignorant on the subject, but how is 1/7 twist better then 1/9?

I would like one in a preban configuration.  Is that possible?  If so, I am in.

You can have it threaded by Kurt.  This barrel is only coming in one configuration.  A bayonet lug would not matter as it wont fit on a 16" barrel anyway.

This might be a stretch but is it possible to get this barrel BARE with no pin holes or gas port?

I might buy a couple to send to KKF for the KurtzGewher treatment (rifle gas tube).

Is fluting possible? Or could I possibly send it back to the BM custom shop for fluting? (I like the new radiused flutes BM is doing, I think KKF's are those squareish flutes).

If these were 14.5HBAR barrels in 1/7 I would have been going crazy right now... I really would like to make a SOCOM profile HBAR M4A1 barrel without cutting Chrome but I think I'm the only guy who wants one.  Someone showed me a link to a real Colt for sale but the upper was $1850! Yeah needless to say that guy knew how rare the barrels were.

It's really long past time for BM to start offering all their barrels in a 1/7 or 1/8inch twist.  People all fired 55grain ammo up till 5-10years ago, now pretty much everyone shoots 62grain or heavier. On their website they claim all ammo up to 77grains can be stabilized in a 1/9- I don't think this is true or we wouldn't be buying 1/7's

I am going to have to look at my funds to see what I can do. I have been looking a carbine and a flat top to put ACOG on maybe this will fit the bill.

There is no issue with cutting chrome.  It wont effect accuracy, durability or anything.  Kurt does it all the time.  Have Kurt make whatever you want.

DevL - Thanks for doing the leg work on this.  I called about an hour ago and ordered one.  I appreciate what you and Jarrod have done to make this happen.

Thank Troy, not me.  He was the one to get it started.
