Gunny Dailey's comments are interesting to note. I was of the opinion MFR did a 37 mtr BZO. According to his comentary a 25 yrd BZO 1" low is still used today. That's been used for quite awhile now. Some of his facts are a bit off. Colt developed the M4 for the Abu contract, not the M4A1. The rest was some very positive insight and facts. Also I agree with him that a sling is not to be used during patrols. That is unless your lugging a M60 or a 249. Great article and information.

A little off-topic: I never used a sling with the SAW, when patrolling. I always used the Bipod as a forward grip. I found that if you were using a sling, and had to drop to prone, shoulder and fire, it was often difficult. A little 550 cord was enough, if it needed to be slung, for obstacles. |

Everywhere I've seen (ARMY) BS zero is dead on at 25M with the sight on 8/3 + 1 (then the sight is down a click to 8/3 even)
1in low at 25yds should give him a 150-200yd zero while the "Army method" gives a 300M zero. (I always thought that a 200yd zero [like the one described] would be nice as I basically aim at the belt of all the sillouettes to hit them between 100-250M) Lets see here (on at 300M for 15% of the targets, or on at 50-250 for 85% of the targets?) |

The "Army method" in the TM and FM produces a trajectory over 11" high at 300 meters..... It's much, much higher than that at mid range. Don't aim high!
If you want a 300 meter zero you have to zero initially at 30 meters with the sight set at 8/3 (6/3). -- Chuck |

Did I miss something? |

He needen't worry about the problem of not having a rack to store the weapons. A modification kit is available to allow M4's to fit in standard M16 racks. Doubt all that night scope stuff will fit ANY rack.
