All of my ARs have 7 - 7.5 pound stock triggers.  From what I understand, the only way to reliably make stock triggers lighter is the "Armorers Method" - basically switching hammers until you find a hammer/trigger combination that works better.  I tried this with one AR that had a 12 pound trigger, and did manage to get it down to 7.  Can I expect to get a 6 or 5 pound trigger with this method, or is 7 pounds about as good as you can expect from a stock trigger?

The MD AR15 Shooter's site has instructions on lightning the stock trigger.

get a light spring kit for $15, i cant remember the brand(got it at a gunshow) it reduced my pull from 8lb to 3.5lb...very nice. Springs is all you need.

JP Trigger spring kit.  $10.  And some moly slide lube.  Took mine down to 4.5 lbs.

wow! 3.5 - 4.5 lbs with just a spring kit.  Are these measured pull wieghts?  What is the break like?  Any reliability/doubling problems?
