To be fair, I didn't do it.

A fellow member was hesitant about cutting one up. I told him that if he did it, and decided to get rid of it, that I would buy it.

They got anymore MRE rails for 250?

Hell I’d take one that had been thrown down the driveway a few times for that

That was back before the re-release of the MREs and I had recently sold off my OG MRE. Had to scratch the itch.

Tried posting this earlier in the thread but I have trouble with uploading to Imgur and the picture was tiny and blurry.   This is mine.  Super budget PSA build but it has the knights rail from my time in Iraq and Afghanistan and my ARMS back up iron sight plus my parade sling. My three point sling is on my scar I just posted in the deer hunting November thread.  Other than that nothing special.  But my stuff was personally purchased until it was issued so I got to keep it.

Kind of an odd contrast between a scar and a PSA but I sold almost all my guns so I could move to some acreage and out of the city so when I finally moved I had the budget to start buying guns again I blew it all on the SCAR because I had one before in my collection and loved it.  Still trying to financially recove because I’m a poor.  Haha

I been quiet for a bit.....just made an 18" dmr style from a rifle length FN CL button barrel off of PArms on sale, and the rest was spare parts. I think the gas block was touching the rail on deflection and whip. Didnt realize how close it was at first. .... so far its doing moa. Massaged the rail and going back out today. Urx 3.1 dont have a lottta room.

If i can have it do sub moa with 55gr and my Brit262 75otm ill be using it as my main budget cloney feeling setup for out to about 1k. Will be painted as well.

Its handy tho:

It was directed at Dobs. I've been slowly pulling him to the dark side of spraying everything.

How prevalent were M5 RAS rails on M16A2’s, if at all?

Bonus point for pictures

Sadly I do not have any pictures but in the National Guard, I saw a lot of A2's with M5 rails.  I have never seen it outside of the Guard though.

When i was in, We had got in and armorer installed M5 rails on A2  but the MTOE And MOW wasnt really official and later they were pulled off because it wasnt the proper config. My own A2 had a gooseneck aimpoint and an M5 rail lol. Yes i have pics of it. i hated it. Lol

Only A4 should have the rails. Also, as a contractor  i removed HUNDREDS from NG and Reserve rifles, as it wasnt the correct config.

Not the best pictures M16A2s enroute to Iraq back in 15'  Notice M5 handguards and collapsible stock conversion.  Guns belonged to 1st Armored Division.
