Can someone recommend a source for mil-spec, made in the USA gas rings for my M-16 bolt?  Brownells has a 5 set of 3 rings for $8.99, but the shipping is $7.95! I need reasonable first class postage, not high end UPS/FedEx ground.

Thanks for any info.

I have got them from Gunbroker before.  They are cheap to begin with and the sellers shouldn't fleece you on postage.

Local gun shows in my area usually have vendors with them in stock.

Order more spare parts than just the rings to offset the shipping.

Let me see if I have this right; you're sweating out $17?
Agreed that it's grinding to have the postage about equal the cost; is your rifle malfunctioning?  If not, wait 'till you need more stuff.

I often wonder what makes it so difficult for a vendor to put a small part in an envelope, slap on a stamp on it and stick it in the mail?  Seems most are using postage/handling to add to their profit margin.  If they tout customer service so much, it would seem this would be one area they could improve on it.

So 5 sets of rings that would cost you $20 plus shipping most places would cost $18 shipped from Brownell's and they are being unfair? The guy that gets them, bag they place them in,  postage, and everything else associated with shipping should be given to you not part of the cost?
