Well got the AR together now I figure I need a soft case to put it in to take it to the range. What are some of the good options out there?

I bought a couple of cases from Sabre when they were in business. Soft sided, will hold rifle, mags, pistol and mags..Was supposed to discreet I guess, but the Sabre logo across the case makes it pretty apparent whats in the bag..For a range bag I have a Hafner that I have had since the 90's..big and roomy..BTW don't use your range bag for a bench rest. Ask me how I know...

Voodoo double rifle bag. Because you will have more AR's... I still would like a nice pelican though.

What about modgear? http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/MOLLE-206

I have a Drago 42" in FDE. Definitely a nice bag. I believe I paid around $85 for it.

VooDoo 42" double rifle bag. Holds two AR's two pistols, 6 rifle mags and 6 pistol mags. Fully loaded though I about need some hand trucks to move it.

I have a really cool Maxpedition bag that will hold two (short) long guns. With the stocks retracted on 16" barreled carbines, they fit. And the best part is it even looks like a keyboard case. I thought about getting letters for "YAMAHA" put on it to complete the look

|
I don't own one of these .But
AR case |
|
I've been using an old Larue soft case. A few rips and tears but still going strong.

M60 barrel bag.
Anything longer that a 10.5 requires breaking it in two. |
|
Spike's makes a nice gun case:

I have one of these, but it is the 36". Can put two AR's or an AR and an AK. With two guy sit is pretty tight though. |
|
i have a midway usa fde bag has 4 mag pouches on front and a zipper front storage for other things. plus another small velcro pocket for a few boxes of ammo. very cheap price too.
|
|
42" voodoo case. fits two rifles, two handguns and a bunch of small pockets (but loading it all up makes it bulky as hell). another one i use is la police gears bag. not as much carrying capacity but its only $36 or so on their sale page

I actually just throw stuff on a blanket in hte bed of my truck. I do however own a couple green USMC logo cases that I've never used.

I take 3 bags with me, plus a roll of targets. Yes, I'm that guy.

I have an Uncle Mikes for my UZI. I like the Uncle Mikes one a lot and I know they make an AR-15 sized one. Just be aware that if you open the zippers to the absolute max and fold the case flat it can be hard to get the zippers to get moving again (at least on mine).

Another vote for the Midway bag.

OpsGear has the condor bags for a pretty good price, and they always have shipping discounts over $99 and monthly discounts. They have blackhawk and others as well, just answering the "wheres condor" specifically.
Also, I like the guitar gig bag pretty well. Desperado comes to mind. haha But where the hell you gonna put the guitar now..? I like some tunes with my shooting. |

Nope, I'll look and see if I can find a nicer one for around $50. |

I've got the Midway bag. Very good quality.

I play guitar and everyone in the neighborhood can hear it so when I leave the house in a rectangle guitar case that has Gibson logo for my Les Paul it doesnt raise any eyebrows
|
|
I like the LaRue soft case, too. A lot of times I leave with multiple AR's and need a few bags. I've got a UTG bag that I like, too. Cheap and has held up well. Holds a pistol and multiple mags in a side compartment and has lots of velcro straps. It's great for my longer AR's. I break down the upper from lower and velcro them in place. Plus it has back pack straps. One of the ranges I go to requires a mile long hike. Nice to be able to shoulder the gun bag.

This is the one I use. Living in a condo community in liberal land, I want to be low key going to the range. I like this bag because it holds up to a 16 inch barreled upper and you still have room for optics and such on your rails. I got mine for 30 bucks and shipping from Brownells, something like 37 bucks total.

I use a Blackhawk one that I picked up in the desert from a soldier that didn't want to/couldn't take it home with him... it was either call dibs on it or my buddy would have grabbed it because the soldier was going to throw it away. I have to seperate the upper from the lower to make it fit but it works for me. It still has the dust from the desert on it... and I picked it up in 2005.

I have pictures of it on here in the S&W AR thread. But my job blocks photobucket site. I'll add pics when I get home.

LA Police Gear has one you might be interested in http://www.lapolicegear.com/lapg-36in-rifle-case.html I'm pretty sure you'll have shipping charges on top of that, but it looks like a pretty good case for the money. They sell the Condor stuff too. Sometimes they'll have some decent sales so unless you are in a hurry, it might be worth keeping an eye on them. |
