Try a better penetrating oil then WD. That stuff sucks for this kind of job. Use a good punch/big hammer/good vice, and don't be afraid to whack it.
That is if you are actually driving the pins in the proper direction.

Go to Brownells sight and find the Front sight block and watch the video. |

Use a starter punch and get a bigger hammer.

Apply heat to the front sight to expand it a little and use a punch and hammer. Do not be afraid to hit it.

It helps to use a punch with a slightly concave tip (I think they're called nail punches). Abandon the WD and get a good penetrating oil like Kroil or PB Blaster. And it helps if you skip the table and put that sight block on concrete so the energy of your WHACK! is not dissipated by poor coupling.

Just as a practical example. I use a taper pin punch, a 48 oz ball peen hammer and a front sight block from Brownells. When you're sure you have the correct pin side to drive out, Hit it like you mean it. |

Cut down a good punch and dish out the end of it with a dremel, this will keep it from slipping off the taper pin head............bring out the big guns and hit it hard.................

No need to even go through all that trouble. Just check the local hardware store for a nail set. I personally use a Stanley Nail Set. It fits the taper pin head perfectly. No slippage, no deformation of the pin. ETA: I'm posting from the office at the moment. When I get home this evening, I'll post a couple illustrations. |

If it doesnt move at all (after WD40, heat etc), use a dremel to make the pins head a little flatter.. It will help keeping the punch on them while hitting hard.
