Hi all, new to this forum and long time browser.  Thanks for all the useful info in the past.  Anyways I've just completed the lower receiver build and am looking for some advise on an upper receiver (complete half).  Here is my lower build: S&W MP 15 Stripped lower, RRA lower parts kit, and Magpul CTR stock.  

Now my problem seems to be finding an complete upper half to complete the gun.  I'm looking for a carbine a3-a4 type.  14.5 - 16".  Price range $400-1200.  

I've contacted many places and stock seems to be out on everything?!?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Complete uppers are definitely hard to come by.

I would do one of the following:

1) Go to the Equipment Exchange part of this forum and click on the "Group Buy" section. Then click on the $609 AR-15 kit. If you are not in a big hurry, you can buy a Stag rifle kit with every thing but a stripped lower. It is great deal.

2) Go to www.ar15sales.com

That is the Legal Transfers web site and Pete, the owner, sells RRA, Stag, and LMT.

He often has stuff in stock when other dealers don't.

Best bet is buy what you want and wait the 4 months to get it.  That's what I'm doing with a 16" gov't CMMG mid-length.

If I didn't mind the wait, I'd get on Bravo Company's list for one of their LMT uppers.  You can always check out the EE http://ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=7&f=22

Private sellers are constantly posting ads.  Be sure to buy a chrome lined barrel.  My personal preference is a 1/7 twist but many members on this board go with 1/9.  But I'm sure you've done your research and already know what you're looking for.
