My rifle does not have them. It works just fine.

I don't get the craze. I really don't.

As long as you have good mags it does not matter.  It's like green mag followers over black (back before the days of fancy mags and followers).  Mags with black followers worked 99% of the time and the improved mags with green followers work 99.000001% of the time......  In other words it's better to have them, but not that much better.

That's great!

Do you guys take turns being the designated brass catcher?

I think like many things that just get people reading about what is best in the ARs someone posts that all M16 have M4 feed ramps.

Then buyers start looking for them on the AR15s they buy. The marketing people quickly pickup on this and then everyone is starting to pitch M4 feed ramps. It don't cost them any more and if it helps sales wonderful.

Now does it really help the AR15s? IMO not as much as just having a quality Mags.

I have one AR with the M4 and one without te M4 they both have shot great.

HA!  Same here--no M4 ramps, yet has never failed to feed.

All my mags have the green followers........

M4 feed ramps:  clever marketing ploy.......

The internet says you have to have them AND it makes you cooler at the range!!!!! 40lbs of tactical crap and feed ramps makes you the man!

I haven't seen any "I have m4 feedramps, I am the man!" Tees around. Know where I can get one?

Are you using a full-auto, carbine length gas system, and issued gov't mags?

If you were you might see the need for them.

I would instead ask "What is the down side of HAVING M4 ramps? To my knowledge there is no downside!

If your rifle is a "range queen", M4 ramps are unnecessary. My AR goes in harms way. My life and sometimes other peoples lives depend on my AR WORKING!  As was stated above.............I'd rather have them and not need them than to need them and not have them!

I wouldn't bother with a rifle that was working just fine.  My rifle did not work just fine.  Bullets would catch right where the barrel extension met the upper.  I had Adco extend my feedramps.  Now my rifle, like yours, also works just fine.

I am probably not the only person in the world with that problem.

Do you get that?

There is nothing wrong with having them it's just they were first just in the full auto ARs. and it just took off from there and became a great markting tool.

i use an over gassed suppressed 11.5" carbine upper on full auto a lot of the time.

my magazine collection, aside from the PMAGS is likely comparable to what you might find as issued. Crap. Absolute crap.

But, my guns still work.

With 4 carbines 2 have them but only out of wanting to have them as close to the real M4 as possible in a semi only.So 2 have em and the other 2 dont but work just as reliable.

This sounds like an argument that went on around 15-20 years ago:

"I don't see why anyone wants fuel injection, a carburetor works just fine!"

Makes as much sense, screw progress, stay in the past!
