Do you know who might have made it? Cardinal forging mark on reciever, white T marks, 14.5 m-4 barrel marked 5.56 HP (high pressure?) 1/7. Never seen anything like it  on net or at gunshow. Beautiful fit & finnish, no bolt and carrier.

The generic term "FN upper" = I have no idea who made this part.

In regards to yours, I have no idea, but like Scott said, it ain't FN.

I saw someone trying to pass off a LAR upper as a FN contract upper last weekend. It was a company called SOG armory. The rest of their uppers were Model 1, about 80-90 bucks above Model 1 prices.

This is definatley not a B/S upper. I have seen plenty, and know this is top of the line. Very reliable source

well like scott said it's not fn. The m4's come from colt . Fn makes the a2/a4s currently.

Fair nuf', Anyone know a resource that might help me track down the true manufacture of this upper and berrel. Compared to Colt M-4,side by side, it's an exact copy, different markings.

It is probably marked " MP 5.56 NATO 1/7" As this is the markings for the LMT M4 barrels.

does the upper have a m4 stamped on the front where the gas tube hole is?  What about the feed ramps, are they extended?

5.56 HP , for some reason I seem to remember that stamping but I dont know where I have seen it before.  Maybe its a Saber Defence barrel?

One thing nearly certain is that it's NOT an "FN M4 upper".

Every FN barrel I have seen is marked "FNMI".  The bolt and bolt carrier would also have FN stampings... F on the BC, FMP on the bolt.  I'm not certain how FN A4 uppers are typically marked, the A2 uppers (typically) have a F forge mark though.

"FN contract" has been the untruthful refrain of gun show sellers for many years now.

Canadian Military AR type weapons are made by Diemaco (now Colt Canada).

How do you know it's "top of the line" when you don't even know whos line?  It's clearly not what it was claimed to be.
