The pigs move into the area after dark. I have a hoglight on a feeder by a pond. It is just bright enough to see them. My eyes have gotten bad and saw this Simmons 4x12 illuminated scope on closeout. I love night hunting with it. Imo it is a pretty nice scope for the money.

It is an 18inch RR. I was using BH 55 grain soft points right in the ear/ eye area. Neck shots are good also, I would not advise the old behind the front leg shot. 9 out of ten times you will not find the pig.

I live in the pandhandle (Amarillo). In Texas pigs are not a game animal. No seasons, no limit, kill them anyway you can. The best part is you can hunt at night when the pigs are active. I think an out of state license for varmint/ small game is around 75.00. Look on texas parks and wildlife web page. I estimate that me my son and friends have killed 60 or 70 hogs in the last year and they still keep coming. They are very destructive to farmland as well as other wildlife but fun to hunt.
Farmers hirer a helocopter that flies very low and two shooters get after them. Last time they came in they killed around 300 in a 2 day period and did not make a dent.

Looks like the hog wasn't listening to you...in one ear and out the other. Probably didn't go far with a bullet to the the old mother board. God shot!!
