Well as it says... I got my very first ar today...Its a brand new RRA M4 type w/ flattop. However, it came also with a riser that mounts on the flattop w/ rear sights, im not sure on the technicial name for that so forgive me. Also came with a 2 stage trigger and an ergonomics grip( i think)..I luv it, cant wait to get out and shoot her.. Thanks for all the tips/info you guys have given... Wouldnt have been able to do it without ya. Thanks

Nice rifle, I just got my first AR yesterday.

By the way, what's "BRD" stand for ? "Black Rifle Disorder" ?

Nope, no cure. All you can do is try to satisfy the BRD temporarily and buy AR's and AR items.

Nice looking rifle, you'll need to pick up a few more magazines and lots of ammo now

That looks a lot like my RRA.  In fact, those look like my knees and my carpet.

Well, it's kinda what mine looked like before I tricked it out.  Mine has the straight ol' heavy barrel though.  Dunno if yours is turned down (thinner) under the handguards.

The term for the thingy on the top rail is a "tactical carry handle".  Doesn't do you much good in terms of toting the thing around with it, and it doesn't easily co-witness with optics.  I took mine off and mounted an EOTech directly on the rail.

Welcome to the disease.

I predict you'll start wishing they made perfume that smells like burnt primer and that your lady friend would wear some.

RRA calls that a "tactical carry handle", which is neither tactical nor a carry handle, but that's the name.   Just do your rifle a favor and shoot the hell out of it!

Once BRD sets in, there is no cure!

Congrats. At first I thought BRD was a joke, but it's for real! By the way, it looks as if you're kneeling down in worship to your new rifle in the first pic.

Very nice!  Just curious if you can take another picture of the feed ramps.  There have been threads popping up here about bad dremel marks on the feed ramps on RRAs.

Seperate the upper from the lower and take a picture of where the bullets feed into the barrel if you can please.  Thanks.

You can control the BRD.
Buy three more and you'll be cured.

For a little while.

Are there any other types of gun diseases besides BRD?  When I first joined here I thought you all were joking, but now that i have my own AR it's real!  Just wondering if people got Klashnikov Disease or M1Garanditus.

AK disease is commonly referred to as "going to the dark side."  I have gone, came back, and gone again...

Don't even START with the C&R thing!  You'll have to have every military rifle ever used before 1947 and every TYPE of markings for each rifle!  Stay away....

The grip is a Hogue AR grip.  I have two.  I think they're the best grip out there that I have tried.  I haven't tried the Tango Down grip, so it might be better.  I'm not a fan of the MIAD.

I now have BRD & GRD. GRD is Green Rifle Disease. I think I may even catch CBRD.

That is exactly the rifle im going to get as soon as Tax $$ gets here. I just cant decide if I want that one or if I want the Midsized Hand Guard. I R-4 bbl does look sweet though. What did you pick it up for? My local gun shop wants $929 for it...I'm also interested on the dremel marks on the ramp as well.
