NO problem, I consistenly bang a 8"x8" piece of steel at that range using a Aimpoint equipped 14.5" w/ permFS M4 and Q3131A ammo, (good M855 should be equal to the M193).

Easily feasible, especially with a good quality red dot sight.

We are hitting man sized steel at 675 with regularity. That is when the wind isn't blowing 40 mph!!!! 300 you can hit easily.

At 300yds, you should pound steel the size of an e-silhouette. From prone you should be able to do 30 for 30.

If you are talking a torso sized target, then you better be able to. If not then either there is something very wrong with the gun or the shooter. |

Yes provided you do your part. I shoot 12x18 steel at 450 yards wiht a 11.5in barrel as well as a 16. If ya know what yer doing you can shoot a 16in barrel to great distance. Is it possible we could throw this damn thread up and tack it so people stop asking this damn question? PLease. Nothing on you JIM762 but it comes up like once or twice a week it seems. |

Well, with my 40-year old eyes, I found that my group size basically halved when I switched to a red dot sight. The reduction in group size was more noticeable over 150 yards. I have trouble focusing on the front sight, no matter how hard I try, it isn't a real sharp image... In my case, the red dot was a real benefit. Plus it acts as a crude rangefinder as well. 4 MOA dot and all. |
