Saw an ad for collapsible stock sets and it listed both M4 and CAR style stocks.  I thought sliding stocks were sliding stocks except  for quality and number of positions.

The C.A.R stock is a plastice copy of the original aluminum design and the M4 is a waffle type 2 stock.Mil-spec stocks are still on 4 posistion original legnth extensions while the slightly larger comercial ones are 6 posistion and have a 1 1/2 " longer extension..on the out  side .Inside the legnth on both is the same.
