I am starting a new build, and I am looking at the CMMG 16 MOD4 Barrel. I dont know anything about CMMG barrels and want to get opinions on the quality and value of their barrels. I am looking to build a M4 carbine, and want the 1/7 twist. MB

Like alot of the barrels out there they are probably ER Shaw but I say that from comparing them only. They may buy blanks and turn them. They make a nice barrel. The CMMG barrels are nice.

CMMG and Saber Defense are the only nonprecision AR barrels I use.

Yeah They get the 4150 blanks and turn them, camber them , send them off to be cromed, then they Mp test them and park them.
Top notch barrels

Fit and finish on my barrel was excellent. Its a very good shooter. I like my CMMG barrel better than the Bushmaster barrel I have on another build.

+1 on what everyone's saying about CMMG barrels. I have two, a 16" MOD 4 and an 11.5" on an SBR. Both rifles shoot extremely well.

Does someone sell Ed Shaw barrels cheaper and does Ed Shaw make a SOCOM 14.5 barrel or a 14.5 m4 barrel?

FWIW, I own two (16" & 11.5 w/perm FS, both 1/7 twist chrome-lined) and both of the barrels are capable of MOA accuracy at 100 yards using Black Hills bluebox 77grn. SMKs. (yes even the shorty)
CMMG makes good barrels, as noted by others above.

CMMG, class act. I have 2 SBR uppers from them. They are great, and they will stand behind anything they sell!!!

The only thing that were "crap" about them were the placement of the gas port hole. From what i've read, only 2 were ever sent back.

Just bought a CMMG 16inch mid length, I bet they are pretty good because I have to wait 3 wks to get mine.

I have one of their 16" MOD4 uppers I received on a rifle in trade. Haven't shot it yet but the fit and finish is better than any of my BM, RRA, or CD...LL

My next upper will probably be from them if I don't just buy a barrel and build my own upper. I don't think you can beat the feature/price ratio and match the quality.
