In the new G&A BOOK OF THE AR-15 on page 12 is an OTIS Tech Inc ad.  Along the left side of the page is an AR w/ a Reflex mounted and it looks like a 2" long tube screwed into the rear of the sight.  It looks like this tube would possibly eliminate the washout problem with this sight.  Anyone know what, where or if this part even exists?

I think they just photo shopped that in.  Possibly for legal reasons to make it look slightly different than the reflex or maybe just because they didnt want to advertise for Trijicon.

Yes, but to the rear of the hood (opposite the polorizing filter) is a short tube that is attached to the sight like a sunshade.

I hope it does, but Im hesitant to improve the ultimate short range AR sight.
