i suppose those M4s are actually M4A3s - they're single/full auto with flat top upper receivers. The one with the Aimpoint happens to have a detach carry handle.

The M4 "SOPMOD" has a butt load of accessories including a 4x ACOG, suppressor, M203, telescoping stock, and you can select between a laser, flashlight, harris bipod, flare launcher, or the M203. As of 2.1, I don't think they have the laser, flashlight, or flare launcher working.

The SPR has the suppressor, 20rd straight mag, and a flat top upper receiver with the extension rail and a 10x scope along with the Harris bipod (my favorite rifle in the game).

It's a reflex sight.

As for the RPK, it used to KICK SOOOO MUCH ASS, but since the last major release it's been wimped down quite a bit.

Yes I suppose Dragunov is spelled incorrectly, but its a horrible rifle in the game (unless you play a sniper rifle only server).

But I thought the new SF 2.1 showed an "Aimpoint" reflex sight in the weapons config menu, but in the game its that reflex sight (Trijicon maybe????) and there's a bug where its supposed to co-witness but you never see the iron sight in the zoom mode.

I was reading about A1 vs A2 vs A3 vs A4 and I think basically the A4s were flat tops with the A2's burst fire mode, while the A3s were the flat tops with full-auto. CMIIAW

To tell you the truth, once I started buying the real rifles, the games felt bland.

There is only an M4 and M4A1... The difference being burst or FA... the fixed carrying handle was the very early versions, the Army to my kowledge has no more M4's with fixed carrying handles.

The A2, A3, and A4 stuff you posted is for the M16 (and the M16A3 is not a flat top.)

The M4A1 has a Trijicon Reflex, not an M2.

The SPR 's scope only has one ring.

This is a fucking airsoft rifle for one thing. Do yourself a favor first and do some research. Try looking up the weapon in the Armys field manual on it. You just might learn something real.

Zak-Smith: I didn't make the game, the Army did. I already complained to them about a number of bugs, but whatever... I don't play the games much once I started buying the real rifles.

There's also no bullet drop over long distances - the bullets basically fly straight (unlike the Delta Force series)

1994. Adoption of the latest variations of the M16 breed. Those include: M16A3 and M16A4 rifles, with "flat top" receivers, that had a Picatinny accessory rails in the place of the integral carrying handle. The rail can be used to mount detachable carrying handle with iron rear sights, or various sighting devices (Night/IR, optics etc). The M16A4 otherwise is similar to M16A2, while M16A3 has a full-auto capability instead of the 3-rounds burst. Two other newest AR-15 offsprings are the M4 and M4A1 carbines, which are described in the separate article on this site.

The M16A3 and A4 rifles have detachable carrying handles with A2 sights, and the Picatinny-type MilStd rail on the top of the receiver, that can accept a wide variety of sighting devices and mounts.

I got the latest copy of FM 3-22.9 and its interesting reading! (Last rev 14 Apr 04)
It looks like the M16A3 does use the fixed CH. Now that I know that, I'll sleep better

Nonetheless, it shows all the overpriced gadgets that people usually buy for their AR15s.

I've never played airsoft before. Do they use metal BBs or something?
I hate it as well when I'm trying to find real AR stuff on the net.

The website for the X-ray image and the quotes I posted came from the same place. Apparently the author is incorrect in his assessment that the M16A3 uses a flattop upper receiver.

According to FM 3-22.9, latest revision (I downloaded some old obsolete POS off of ARFCOM) 14 Apr 04, it shows the M16A3 with the standard A2 upper. I don't know what DM1975's problem is, maybe he wants a medal or something for this thread.

You need to get one of Kerry's Purple Heart dispensers.

Okaaay.... that would be the site with the "M16A3" XRay of an AR15... along with a picture of an "M16A3" with no autosear pin and no label for burst/auto.

I have no idea what an M16A3 config is but none of your links are definitive proof of anything.

I play this game alot as well, it is fun and cheap (i.e. FREE) anyways, I don't think it is a dragunov but a romanian PSL used in the game.

Im waiting on this thread to go away myself, but the best PC gun related game I ever played is Secret Service. A $10 combo game at walmart. Its tough, realistic, but old and poor graphics. the enemy can hear you walk, shoot you through the floor/roof, shoot you through walls/doors, and you can do the same. A guy with a pistol can get lucky and kill you first shot from 300 yards, or you can get lucky and have someone panick at you with an AK47 at 2 feet and only wound you. You can have the same troulbes and luck on enemies. Very realistic. No health pacs. Certain weapsons pentrate more things that others. Glass stops/weakens some bullets until its thoroughly shattered, And the dignitaries you protect are absolute idiots. You also die if you jump from more than a second story roof. No falling 75 feet and hit the ground running. All weapons have realistic ranges and YES IT HAS AN M4. Thats all I use when given a choice. Forget a silence MP5 when you can have an M4 and the enemy hears you to come get some without you hunting them down.
