Yep that is right, with the oustanding success in IRAQ the move is to put more ACOGs on more M16A4s over the next six years.

I guess there are as few as 3000 in the field over there now and the word is EVERYONE wants one. Just like all you all.

So If you want one scarf it up now as I imagine they will get even MORE scarce.

And pricey, as demand has just skyrocketed, therefore price must follow.

Maybe we can pick-up surplus units when the USMC gets done with them.  How bad could a Marine screw-up a ACOG?

I'm sure that folks from ADCO or MTSN will verify that for you.

This basically means that the Corps is sticking with the M-16A4. Think about that.

I've been pushing for mainstream use of the ACOG since we set foot in Afghanistan.

Wow, what a coincidence.  On the same day I decided I don't need one!

I guess there are now competing claims to the "Most used/popular Optic in our Military"

According to an article in this month's issue of American Rifleman (IRA publication).......

"Aimpoint AB is again being asked to supply red-dot sights to the US Army for M4 Carbines and M16A2 rifles. The new order is for 70,000 units over 10 months. That is in addition to the 200,000 units Aimpoint AB has already provided to US forces.

The contract with th US Army is the largest single order for small-arm optical sights in the world to date"

Ahh,........ the ole' Aimpoint vs EoTech ACOG debate rages on

No I am not an ACOG dealer. Just a cat looking for another TA 31.
