Why doesnt anyone make 24 inch barrels with the gas block moved up the additional 4 inches (or 3 if lag time is a concern) so you have a longer sight radius.  It would need longer free floating handguards.  This set up would seem a lot more reliable than those used in some matches where the sight clamps onto the end of the barrel.

Yes I know it could be ugly as ....

Such a change would require new handguards and gas tubes - and with so few people buying 24" barrels its most likely not worth the cost of the new pieces.  Not to mention the R&D to determine what the new gas port size should be...
