I got a moly resin paint finish a year ago and all I can say is it sucks. It scratches off very easily. I am electing to get my competition ARs anodized which is more durable and shinier. The problem is that the phosphate finish of the AR also scratches off. How can I remove the moly and keep the original finish?

You can only phosphate the steel parts. You can only anodize the aluminum parts.

It says right on the instructions for the stainless MolyKote that it's for small areas not the main parts of the gun.
