New Bushmaster M4 Type 16in Carbine with Izzy Flash Suppressor
New Bushmaster M4 Type 16" Carbine (default w/ birdcage supressor).

So the only diff is the surpressor?  Call me stupid, but I don't see the point in adding the "New Bushmaster M4 Type 16" Carbine"? However,

I think one of the 16 has a M4 profile while the other is just a 16

LOL, I just looked at the two rifles side by side for like a minute.

Stock, same.  Upper, same.  Lower, same.  Handle, same.  Sights, same.  Barrels, different.

I give up!  It's like playing one of those "can you spot the differences" game on the sunday news paper!  lolol  h=85%

Looks like there is a 20" A2 with the government profile barrel.

One of the 16 has a 14.5 with a perminately attached flash hider and the other is a 16 with a non perminant flash hider

Yep I just got an order in from Bushmaster and they included a flyer on their new AR's and one has a perminately attached IZZY on its 14.5 barrel and one has a birdcage flash supressor on its 16 barrel.

Is the new 20" a Govt. Profile or HBAR? Can't really tell, but I'm leaning toward HBAR.

I am looking to buy one of these bushmasters in about a week or two when the dealers start getting them.
Since it seems to me that one is 1.5" shorter barrel, what would be the range difference between the two?
Personally I want to use it for home defense and plinking around.  I don't plan on doing any long rage shooting or match shooting.
Any recommendations???

I feel your pain.  The add mentions it being light in weight and also calls it the "A2" style.  That is the same way they describe their government profile barrel in their catalogue and on their web site.  I suppose and email or a post in there forum is in order to clarify.
