I have never heard of any functional difference btw the armalite setup and the others, but there might be?
Armalite and Bushy you can get with a chrome lined barrel, which as far as I know Oly still does not offer. If I were to buy a new 16" today I would get the Bushmaster patrolman's carbine. It has a 16' rifled barrel (v. the 14" plus brake of a m4 type rifle) and it has a lightweight barrel v. the HBAR, which is the other choice if you don't get an m4 style barrel. I have had excellent luck with my Bushmaster, and everyone else I know has also, though I have never heard anything bad about Armalite either. Armalites tend to be a little more expensive, but they are nice carbines also. |

IGNORE Aimless as he's noted for having exquisitely poor taste !! [:D] The ArmaLite midi set-up with the gas port forward (standard) is the better and more reliable set-up.* (Yes, I have primarily ArmaLite AR-15's.) * This should start the first duel of the morning ! 5sub |

Hi, why do you say it is a more reliable set-up?. I knew there are problems when the gas port is too close from the muzzle like the 11.5 inches. I tought that 4 inches was kind of a minimum for reliability therefore 6 might be better or not? Is Armalite stand alone in that type of configuration?
