I'm thinking about buying an A1 buttstock and I was wondering if I can use the buffer tube assembly in my pinned telestock in the A1 buttstock.

Or do I have to buy a new one?

Also, an informal poll here, but trying to get an idea which is more popular (and why): A1 length buttstock or A2 (5/8" shorter).

Assuming your fixed telestock is the same length as my Colt fixed telestock, here is a pic of mine placed on top of an A2 stock for the sake of LOP comparison. The fixed telestock is 5/8" to 3/4" shorter than the A2 stock:

The Fixed Telestock is the same length as the A2 stock.

Look at this picture of the stocks actually attached to lower receivers:

From left to right: A2, Fixed RRA telestock, A1, LE Entry w/ 1" spacer, collapsed BM 6 pos telestock.

Occasionally you'll find one a hair shorter, but in general they are A2 length.

BTW Most people I've encountered prefer the A1 stocks once they have been given a chance to use both the A1 & A2.

For the record, my telestock is on a RRA lower.

Thanks.

Clean cut - in that photo above the carbine with the fixed telestock is a RRA with their fixed telestock.  It was the first year LEGP.
