Should I buy? I can`t decide between the Colt MT6400c, or Bushmaster`s M4 with the A3 carry handle. I like `em both, but can`t choose. Is there any difference between the two other than the name? Thanks

In my opinion:
I would go with the Bushy.
With the A3 top, you can take off the handle and use optics (Aimpoint or EO Tech).

You should get in touch with Pete at Legal Transfers in NH.  He has Rock River Arms M4s which are great, and he is a great guy to deal with.  I just got one on Friday - I'll post pics soon.

He's got M4 profile barrels that are 16" long (but you get a pressed on flash suppressor fake) that makes the barrel look like it's the correct 14.5".  I got a NM lower, stamped, US property - the trigger is great.

As some people know Im always bashing colt.I love bushmaster and I dont like the unecesary design changes colt does to make the weapon more unique,civilian as well as military one..But be that as it may I would choose colt over hesse any day and even though I hate colt rifles they have to be working good or no one would buy them,on the other hand I only have colt 1911s but thats another can of worms.

Contrary to popular belief it does [b]not[/b] have a sear block and [b]does[/b] have a front push pin. It also has a chrome lined chamber, barrel, and proper M4 profile feed ramps.

Didn't know the Mustang and Camaro shared 90% common *not identical, but common* parts.

Pretty lousy premise for an arguement...regardless, you will be happy with both bushmaster and colt.

They are both equally as good, however I own bushmaster rifles for the reasons Model927 listed above.

When it comes down to it, they're just as accurate, and just as reliable as the other.  I would say, which ever one you can find cheaper.

I own a Bushy M4A3, and it works just as good for me as the Colt M4 would.

OK man unless I am losing my mind you just said it does NOT have a sear block then show me a picture of a lower that has an unmilled section blocking the sear location.  Am I missing something here?  I realise thats not a "pinned" sear block but its a sear block none the less.

Also are those small hole trigger parts?  They look like it but I thought they were supposed to be large hole.

I have a BM A2 M4 "type". It is a great weapon, I can't think of or say anything bad about it. My next AR is going to be the Colt MT6400c M4 so I say get both you can never have enough ammo, guns, and chicks.

Ahh, I guess it could be considered a sear block then. My other two Colts have a protruding block that say "Colt" on them-this new Colt does not.

I haven't put a caliper on the pins yet so I don't know the diameter. I've heard conflicting reports about the diameter. Some have said they are standard and some have said they are still large. Later tonight I'll measure them.

I know Colt uses a 1-7 twist barrel in the MT6400C. Is it still okay to shoot cheapo 55-grain ammo through it? Any adverse effects? I was going to purchase an RRA M4 Entry, but may consider another Colt.

No problem shooting 55 grain at all.  Theoretically it wont be as accurate but I notice no difference in accuracy.

I find this less than convincing.

The term, "Colt M4" may be a registered trademark but "M4" is a gov't designation.

BTW...where did I say that COLT sucks?  I said I would own one with just as much confidence as I have in my Bushy.

I do go to bushmaster and ask them for an M4.  They say, we have two...the M4A2 and the M4A3.  Call em and find out.  

Please ditch the attitude.

First off, lets define an american sports car.  It does not by definition have four seats.  

Second, people who buy mustangs dont have the same attitude as camaro owners.  Mustang GT's put around 225 horsepower to the wheels, where as camaro SS/Z28's with the LS1 powerplant dyno around 300.  Performance wise...two different classes.  I can easily put bushmaster parts in a colt with the exception of a few (larger pins, etc).  When you mount an LS1 and its respective transmission to a mustang, drop me a line...same goes for interior...suspension...do I need to continue?

I guess being a car guy as another hobby, I may have responded a bit differently than most.  I simply did not agree with your premise, as it did not logically support your conclusion.

Would you prefer that I call my Bushmaster M4A3 a "Bushmaster XM15E2S which copied the Colt M4 design, which they now call the M4A3"  If you would prefer I call it that, and will put your mind at ease, I will start addressing my rifle as such.

If you want to get into copying designs or originals...we can open a whole new can of worms...I'll leave that up to you.  Frankly, I'm not much for argueing.

Furthermore...if you look at my post...my arguement was not about the names of certain rifles.  Just how poorly you integrated cars with rifles.  Thats all.

I've also seen Yugo's with chevy 350's.  If you stay within the context of my arguement, it will be alot easier than going back in time to the 60's, when referring to a modified, non-stock chevelle.  

I'm also a bit old-school.  Have a 95 Corvette, a F5 67 shelby that I built with my father, and a SDS powered Stratus R/T coupe.  I'm all over the place, and love it.  Used to work at dyno/performance shop where we saw everything.

Colt makes the only M4.  Fine with me, and always has been.  Just wondering, seriously and not sarcastically, if you owned a Bushy M4A3 "type" rifle, what would you casually refer to it as?

Bushy xm15e2s M4A3, and still do to people who aren't familiar with the rifle.  Later on, I simply called it the bushy m4a3 for simplicity sake.  Say XM15E2S ten times fast...it just get's old, and people have no idea which xm15e2s I am referring to.  When I say bushy now, I guess I just assume people tag the XM15E2s part to the name, and it is better left unsaid.

64 Corvette...beatiful machine.  My dad is looking to pick up a 66 in the near future.  Personally, its my favorite style.

Both the Colt and the Bushmaster will be great rifles. The thing that I like better about the Bushmaster is it is lighter (.7 pounds). The Colt will have the best resale value of any of the AR's.

I was in your shoes six months ago. After looking both over at Impact Guns I picked the Colt because of the fit and finish. 1800 rounds later I think I made the right choice. No malfunctions of any kind and 1.5 moa with Q3131a and X193. MOA with Federal 50grain flat base HP. This was from the bench with a 3.5x Trijicon TA50-4.

Ah, I see the Colt .vs Bushmaster M4 arguments are in swing here (again)!  Like others have said, you will be happy with either but I happen to think that the Colt is a better value for the following reasons:

Comes standard with side-sling mount
Comes standard with M4 handguards
Comes standard with RAS numbered flattop
Comes standard with M4 feed ramps
Comes standard with 1:7 twist barrel

The only issue with the Colts are the oversized FCG pins.  To some it's not big deal.  May I suggest another alternative?  Take a look at the [url=http://www.cmmginc.com/cmmg_images/tbl_images/Receivers%20Firearms/M4A2_Rifle_MiCulek_Accessorized.jpg]CMMG/DPMS M4[/url].  It has everything the Colt does (see above) but with a 14.5" barrel.  I think it's a better shooter than the Colt & Bushmaster. Colt says that the barrel is 16.1" long. Is that length including the muzzle brake?
