I've had both.  I really don't get to shoot that often.  I have a preban 6700 (large hole).  Thinking I can sell it, buy a postban carbine and get a 20" upper for a little extra with funds from selling the preban.  How are Armalites nowdays?  I can get a carbine for $880 locally and then order  a upper for $500. Comments/suggestions?  Nelson

That's an individual decision.  To me, nope, pre-ban isn't worth any extra dollars.  The only functional difference I see in my pre and post rifles is the pre ban stock, it's nice to have adjustability.  Other than that, they both go bang, both shoot well.  Whatever trips your trigger.

My tele-stocks, generally, are either fully closed for stowage or fully open for use. If your not wearing armor, then they are a "novelty" ( I have two of them).          imo, the only feature a pre-ban is good for, is a real flash suppressor, and those will be legal in a year anyway.
