Anybody here build a .40 Smith or better yet a .357 sig AR-15 upper? A 16" barrel should really make that sig. whistle! I looked at a Oly .40 upper at a show and wasn't impressed. The guy was using Scherer/glock .40 smith mags and the whole thing looked kinda amaturish.

This is my Oly .40.
Uses modified Uzi .41 AE mags.
Never had any kind of reliability problems, and everyone that has shot it has been impressed.
Accurate out to 100 yards.

Gunslinger808, Nice, clean looking piece. What I didn't like mostly about the one I mentioned was the plastic Glock style mag and adapter in the Ar-15 magwell. Are the .41AE (Uzi?) mags available commercially? And do they use the same mag block as the 9mm? I've got an ASA 9mm upper that I like. The solid one piece mag block especially. I've had some bad expirences with Oly in the past. Late shipping, no shipping and double shipping. I'd rather buy the stuff through a stocking dealer if I could find one. Thanks for the reply and pix. I like that stock a lot.  

As far as I know, Oly is the only company making the .40 cal. uppers.
What I did was find the magazines at a gun show for $25.00 a piece, sent them to Oly and had them modified to fit the lower.
What they do is weld a piece of channel iron to the mag, cut the holes for the mag catch and parkerize the whole thing.
Process cost another $25.00.
So for $50.00 I get a nice 32 round Hi Cap, that required no special block.
Oly does sell 10 round mags at their site.
