Anyone ever use an SP-1 Lower to built an M4?  If so, how'd it look?  I'm at my wits end trying to get a legal all preban M4.

Sure why not? It seems like evrytime someone asks where to find and SP-1 upper, someone posts that they should find someone who just built a pre-ban M4 and ask them.

Sure, why not.

Lots of guys do it.
The only thing you'll miss is the raised "fence" around the mag release.
No big deal.
Here's My SP-1 with an A2 upper.
It's an M16A2 clone, but imagine it with an M4 stock and barrel.

I'll add to the already positive responses.  My M4gery sports an SP1 lower, and I am extremely happy with everything about it: form, fit, function, and the all important coolness factor.  Believe it or not, but the color match is pretty close to my new M4 upper....maybe 'cause it's a Diemaco.

What's a Diemaco?

They make the Canadian service rifle.

Seems like it would be expensive and involve considerable "foreign entanglement".
