So what happens when the ATF closes a big gun shop, do they sell the contents? Just wondering.

From the sounds of it he has more than just a few problems, ATF, IRS ect. It's good sized gunshop, and everytime I have been there the place is selling at least one or two guns. Actually that's where I bought my bushy and HK.

With this shops' sloppy recordkeeping, maybe you guys that bought stuff there have firearms that are "off the books".  To quote Martha Stewart; "And that's a good thing".

I'm sorry but if I ever came across that I'd go postal. Each one of those rifles could save a human life, a dozen human lives, and I'd make sure that every one cheering it on was the life the rifle was going to save...

Please tell me that was Australia...

ATF just shut down a shop in a northern indy town.  The guy sold a gun to a felon.  Shitty part is the guy lied on the form where it asks that.  The really shitty part is it was another gun dealer in the same town that contacted the ATF and worked with them to set the guy up. [pissed] I am still not sure WTF is going on in this deal.  They have the shop owner nailed and they told him they would drop all charges if he closes the business... seems kinda strange to me.  Anyway, to answer your question, there was a big auction.  I'm not sure where the stuff goes that doesn't sell at the auctionm, though.

What is the name of the shop and owner that blew in the other shop? They need to punished. Let all owners in the area know that that wont be tolerated.

I don't remember off the top of my head, but I'll find out.  It's not a very big town and word has already spread pretty quickly.  I'm surprised the shop hasn't been burned already.

And remember, when a shop is closed...all the 4473s go to law enforcement.

? - Did the dealer run a proper NICS check and the guy passed? - If Mr. Felon lied on the 4473, and he passed the NICS then thats time for a lawsuit.

Amended with: I forgot that even if the felon lied on the 4473, and passed the NICS, if there is a good reason to prove that the dealer knew the guy was a felon and proceeded to attempt the sale... then he is well and truly...

I think Prof is right here.  There must be more to this story, however I do believe they feel it's their duty to close em all if they can.

This is a short story about it from the local paper.

Don't get me wrong, what the guy did was wrong, but getting setup by a fellow gunner is even worse.  It doesn't mention that portion of the story, however.

is it not  illegal for a felon to attempt to purchace  a firearm, Wouldn't that also be filling false documents? What about entrapment?

If you notice most of the guns in that picture look old, worn out & rusty. I'd say the cops kept the good ones for themselves or this was one of those buy-back programs where people turn in broken guns & air rifles.

The Philippine government has banned personal possession of firearms. Like Australia and other places, the order was turn them in or face prison. People turned them in. Notice the glee on the f^*king Canadians as they inspect the evil guns? Now no one will die in the Philippines, the guns are gone!

YA no one will die but the honest poor SOB who turned in his gun. Now who will stop the Dictator or bad guy?

"As a civilian, I've been barred from owning firearms all my life. Now that I'm on the police force in this god-forsaken country, I can't understand how this damn thing works. Is this what they mean by "the hammer"? Man, the recoil on this thing is pretty harsh."

...I must wonder........

How is it that one guy here can run over his AR in the woods, presumabaly on a dirt road with a truck and so obliterate the reciever he can't find the serial number and these mfers can run over one laying on asphalt with a road roller and the recievers stay relatively intact?
