Pretty sure this is an atacr.

Ahh you're right - they're so similar looking, but I can see the differences now.

Does the NX8 come with a cover for the elevation knob (like in the pic)?

There is a NX8 in the EE that is a Mil/LE version that is capped.

Yeah - that explains it.

I was looking at it and thinking, why does that not look like any of the NX8s I've seen for sale online anywhere?

@phlegm

Thank you. I missed the question.

These are great caps. Definitely the most solid built ones I've found. They seal great and keep all the dirt out, mud, etc out.

Apologies if this has already been covered, but regarding the Vortex 1-6 Razors we're seeing in the wild - are these just personal purchases? Or are they issued along with the guns?

And correct me if I'm wrong, but the ATACR 1-8 (in FDE) will be the new standard issued SOCOM 5.56 carbine optic?

Both personal and unit purchases.

There was the SVPS competition to make it official, but the SIG optic "won" the SFP.

Nightforce won the FFP version. It's the ATACR 1-8 in FDE with some other differences.

Trying to decide what LPVO to mount on my URGI build, stuck between the ATACR 1-8, NX8 1-8, and the new Razor Gen III 1-10. Not gonna lie, definitely leaning toward the Vortex, but I also want that NF logo. Anyone prefer one over the other?

Well it's a clone thread, so ATACR. Then NX8

atacr is most clone correct, NX8 is next. I'm sure someone out there has put a vortex 1-10 on it since strike eagles have made it onto block 2s, but there haven't been pictures confirming it.

Part of me wants to hold out and see if Nightforce ever releases the ATACR 1-8 in their .mil contract FDE to us civilians.

Just afraid that day may never come though.

Slightly off topic; but I'm willing to bet the freshly rebuilt M4 URGI came from this MK18 spotted in Afghanistan. Love the modern brushstroke camo

An "intense 200 lumens of quick threat detection?" Is it really only 200 lumens in the visible setting?

Yes.
200 lum max for 2 hours with 5 lum map light. IR capable.

Keep in mind Wmx's are used in conjunction with FP Peq15/LA5's. They are not intended to white light targets at distance.

Thoroughbred wmx run was a deal of the century. Not likely to happen again. Light is discontinued, your going to pay 750-1500. Wills optics has a few in stock at 14-1500$.

FINALLY! After a year of being on the call when in stock list, I finally got to it in time... almost two weeks later it showed up after a brief detour to Alaska usps is extra fukky lately.

Perfect timing the 4P I found here on the EE came the same day... now off to pin and weld and my URGI can graduate from near clone status.
***Been rocking a Rosco Bloodline and a BE Meyers 249ASR so I could use my SiCo Can***
I’m on the fence what upper to use. I could stick to the Muller, but it fits my lower a little to tight... and pulling the TD pin is a bitch.
my options are a rattle canned Cage Colt, a surplus Cerro Colt, or one of those FN Cage/ raised (not colt) C uppers that we’re floating around a couple months ago.  I like the idea of a slightly salty receiver as most of the ITW URGI’s have a fair amount of sodium content.  Anyone seen those FNs ITW?

I'd go with the Cerro Colt since I haven't seen the others in pictures.

Don't have it pinned without the barrel nut on it.

Those have not been fielded yet, usually ends up being 18-24 months once a contract is done before the item is actually fielded.

The issued 1-8 doesn’t have the same reticle, it has a BDC that can be used for 5.56 and 7.62 with different zeroing points for each.

I thought  @Combat_Diver  had mentioned building URGI’s on the FN Cage/Odd C/Anchor Harvey uppers
I just found it again HERE
Which is good because I’d rather save the Cerro for another block 1 or Mk18 build...something with fewer “Correct” upper receiver options.

..ya forgetting the bbl nut and having to butcher a 4P would be bad.

Those have not been fielded yet, usually ends up being 18-24 months once a contract is done before the item is actually fielded.

Apparently they've been in the field for a few years now. Here's a picture posted in a FB group (This photo isn't mine):

We haven’t received any of them yet, haven’t heard from any buddies that have gotten them yet either. Could be a personally purchased upper. I got a lot of buddies that bought the URGI uppers when those came out.

I ended up ordering a stripped DD 11.5 barrel without the gas block, and then prematurely bought a G gas block. Then I read this whole thread lol.

Optics Planet has 11.5 barrels with the LPGB in stock CAO 1110 hrs today. Everything is all good now lol.

Been a while since I popped in. Any news on what USASOC is doing for CQBR uppers? They keeping the current RIS II equipped, changing to a new one or doing away with it?

Yeah I’m not aware of any making it out en masse.
