I want. Has pricing been set? I think it was back a few pages, Marsh thought they would be around $140, but he wouldn't know until they were in "the barn" |
Why are you upset with the product? It has not even been released yet. Yes, it looks like an ACOG TA01NSN or the Chinese clone of that scope, but it will have a better reticle, good glass I am guessing and a good price. I will be getting one and will compare it to the real thing. I will wait to pass judgement on it until I can see how it performs.

god damn it. I waiting this long for that That's the Christmas Spirit ! I'll be ordering one soon. Been waiting for a 4x for a spare upper. |
As long as it performs as well as or better than the old one, what's there to complain about? I'm just gonna miss the rails. I had my FastFire II mounted there. But if I can mount it as shown, I'll be happy. I just hope it comes with the relfex mount or I can buy one without an extra reflex sight.
Personally, I think it would have been a nicer product if it was just a scope with no sights or other trinkets and trash the chinese like to put on their scopes to make them tacti-cool. I'm sure it will be fine function wise. I'm probably leaning more towards the 3-9x40 scope now. |
Everything on that scope is also available on an ACOG. It looks a little different, but the reflex mount at the rear is simiar to the one available for the ACOG. I agree that they some times add a bunch of things for bling, but in this case it is all functional looking.

Exactly. That front sight is waaay to tall for my tastes, for one. If we could have just had the old body with the new reticle minus the rails... perfection. I know Marsh gets what he gets and that there are compromises to be made and all but I'm just disappointed, was really looking forward to the 4x. I still love PA and will continue to buy from them for the foreseeable future. Gen 8 micro here I come. |
Dremel cut-off wheel and some Birchwood Casey Super Black will fix the front sight post right up.
From that one picture, not the best, but all we have right now, the front sight base looks to be angled, so it may take some sort of rail and if this "clone" is like the other TAO1NSN clones or the real deal it should have an adjustable front sight that can just be drifted out of the dovetail, no dremel required. As soon as I can get one I will take pics compared to my real TA01NSN and compare the glass.

I would think it is as I have the older model and it's visible.

I am glad I got the old version I prefer the older reticle better, so I got the copy that Sig Sauer sells, IR red/green, non- illuminated black, diopter adjustable with no rails. (CP-1 prismatic scope.) |

Is the reticule visible without the illumination on? Yes |

Pictue of the body. Micro reflex will be a option. It will have iron back up sight on the rear. It is not everything I wanted because we used a mold they already had. Uses 2 LR44 batteries. Finish will be matt black. http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb190/marsh2001/Web%20photos/4X.jpg WIll it have both Carry Handle and Flat top mounting options???? |

Dremel cut-off wheel and some Birchwood Casey Super Black will fix the front sight post right up. Very true. Also Marsh if you could answer a quick question, will it mount as low as the previous one, i.e. as low as the M3, for us Sig 522 owners? Looks like it sits higher than the previous model, like on top of the battery compartment, where the previous model looked liked it sat right on the mount. Thnx |
Marshall,
What's the magnification been like on the samples you got on these? Used to have a gen 1 and found it to be closer to 3.3 or 3.4x. |

About 1.58" from the rail to center of the optic. |

If you don't have one then this will be a great deal. However who could say this is an improvement over the old one, reticle looks no better, all anybody wanted was a chevron. And the new battery up on top what the heck is that. I'm sure PA did the best they could, you can tell the chinese exactly what you then they go do want they want anyway and you can take it or leave it. |

Where are these things? I am dying to see a through shot of the actual reticle.

I hope these aren't all gone before I get the chance to order one... My birthday is on Wednesday - I need one!

Bad news. These are not what I ordered. Wrong reticle and it looks like none of the other upgrades. I am trying to find out what happened but I won't be selling the ones we received. At this point we just don't have a 4X in the lineup. I apologize for the long delay and now this.

Please let us know what you find out from them. If they still have what you ordered and are going to send it to you in the next few months I will wait for one. I actually built an entire rifle just to run this on, so I don't want to put another optic on it till I know for sure yours are out of the picture for good or for a long time.
