[Last Edit: PalmettoStateArmory]
The KS47 is a hybrid AR, chambered in 7.62x39, that allows the use of standard AK-47 style magazines. In addition the KS47 upper can be used on a standard AR15 lower for use with AR47 style magazines.

If you guys ever make a new generation of lower, please include a bolt catch. There are AK mags and followers on the market that feature BHOs, but make the BCG slam home once the mag is removed. |

Anyone try a DDC Hard Charger on theirs? Looking for a left side charging conversion and it seems to be the most popular

No matter how important it is, it can be taken WAY too fucking seriously.

Bolt catch would be awesome. I bought a BCA side charging upper and milled out the insides to fit the ak mags. Friend of mine is going to mill the bolt carrier to clear the mags. Got it all assembled just waiting on that. I'm excited to go test it out. |

I'm very interested in building one of these. Besides the upper/lower and BCG, is everything else AR15 compatible?

I just put one on my KS47 and didn't see where I needed to modify anything. I haven't shot with it yet, but it seems to function fine. Mine is a complete PSA upper with 8.5" barrel. |

I have another Hard Charger on a standard AR and it's very smooth. Thanks. View Quote Yep, before I modified it the Hard Charger worked but it was not smooth at all and definitely not straight in the receiver. After modification it operates like it's on roller bearings. |

Are people still having trouble with barrel nut removal? I want to replace this handgaurd on my Gen2 KS47 but have heard horror stories of broken teeth etc. What is the best way to proceed? Is there some sort of lock tight on it? I can't remember where I saw/heard it but someone said PSA told them they are designed to not be removed? Probably some warranty disclaimer nonsense if true but wanted to ask here.

View Quote I had one come off normal, and one that was put on by a gorilla who'd had a bad day that required more torque then I was really comfortable with to break it loose. I will say both had ample anti seize applied. A high quality upper receiver tool like the Giesselle or MI rod along with a properly fitting wrench is required. |

I bought a Gen2 shortly after their release. My upper required putting my entire body weight (170lbs) on the end of a 2' breaker bar. That was after propane and Kroil.

So I just got my psa ks-47 10.5. I got 6 pmags and 2 metal mags....1 is kci i believe and i forget the other...both korean.
First time shooting it i only shot 60 rounds out of 2 pmags no problem what so ever. Next day i take it out and i slap a pmag in it and shoot 30 rounds with no issue. Load 2nd pmag rack it back squeeze trigger it goes bang then squeeze trigger again it goes click. I thought maybe the mag wasnt seeted corectly or maybe it was just the mag not feeding the next round. It kept doing this so i switched the pmag out for one of the metal mags. Blasted thru 30 rounds like a beast no issues. Put the second metal mag ....start getting failure to feed issues.....shit jamming up. Put back in pmags same thing failure to feeds and jamming up on me. Has anyone else had this experience???? I am shooting cheap ass tula steel but i thought these guns ate everything!! So i will clean this mofo real good and oil her ass up real nice lol and see what happens next time. |

The only issue that I've had was due to a dent in a Romanian surplus mag. The 10-round PMAGs that I have work just fine. I just got a Toth Tool mag that I need to try out. PSA is going to be releasing their own ((10)) copy in the next few months, supposed to be right around $20.

Thanks for the response. Will a standard reaction rod work? Does it need to be one intended for an AR10? Sorry for all the questions. Just would love to get rid of this handgaurd :).

ETA: You really want a Super Reaction Rod or something that holds the upper in place to do barrel nut work or you'll put a ton of stress on the barrel index pin. |

Shot my 16” Gen 2 today. Pain in the ass to get the rear take down pin through...seems like this is common. One of my magpul mags didn’t seat very easily but it ran just fine outside of that!
