I want one of these rifles, but I live in California. I need it to have an AK style bullet button like the CMMG Mutant has for theirs. Or else I would need it to ship featureless, with a fixed A2 style stock, a compensator instead of a flash hider, and a featureless grip. Your website says you have them in stock but I can't order one until I know if I'll be able to have it shipped in the right configuration for this restrictive state I live in.

Does anyone know if there will ever be a bolt hold option added to the KS47 platform?

No, the AK mag is not designed for it.

No, the AK mag is not designed for it.

The Yugo mag is capable of this task. I was just thinking that the bolt hold could be added mechanically to the KS lower similar to an AR. This way the lower would react based on the mag position (empty) and not due to the mag style (BHO or not)

Any plans for a 12.5 inch SBR/Pistol upper?  If so, can you estimate the overall length for form 1 purposes?

YES!

THIS!

I am too waiting for this combo 3 part kit.

On the other hand, I don't want to be the first one to test out the new design. I would like to wait for awhile till people have a chance to test its rigidity and reliability.

Extractors appear to be the bane of creations such as these especially with the 5.56 sized bolt versus the 7.62 AR-10 variety. What's the current life span and availability on replacements?

So this was my review... I had to send it back for the feeding issues. While their communication is poor they were able to fix the feeding issues. It was caused by the BCG. However, once I received it back from PSA I didn't get it back in the same condition I sent it back to them. So they want to give me $30 credit or I can send it back yet again... Just send me the handguards! Dammit PSA this is not how you handle customer service

Glad to hear the feeding was an easy fix.  Sucks about your rail.  I've messed with their slim rails before (I like them a lot), but they can be very tight to get off the barrel nut.  I'd sent it in and let them swap it to be honest.

After a $1000 plus spent on this they should't expect me to be inconvenienced yet again. It's called customer service not customer inconvenience. I work with customers all day 6 days a week and when we mess up we own it and make it right and make it right away!

I don't disagree with you on that point, just giving you a heads-up on the potentially tight rail/barrel nut fit.  If yours is anywhere near as tight as mine was it's worth sending it back in.

Eventually, yes...but it might be a couple of months before we see them available.

I'm waiting for the upper first, then I'll get the rest that I need as the upper will be the hardest part to get.

Early in this thread PSA says this will work with an AR47 lower, but http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ks47-16-classic-13-keymod-rifle-kit.html says it only works with a KS47 lower. Can anyone confirm fit/function for me?

i saw that too, as I've been waiting for the AR47 kits to come back, but they don't even show as not in stock on the website anymore.  The only thing I can think of is that the upper is compatible with a standard lower, but maybe the lower build kit that comes with the rifle kit is only compatible with the KS47 lower.

PSA has put out the very confuse information starting from the video of 2016 shotshow. I gave up on building the KS-47. Instead, I am going to get the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 pistol.

Thank you for the inquiry.

The build kit is specific for a KS47 lower - it does not have a trigger guard, bolt catch assembly, or mag release included.    One would have to purchase those items separately to finish this kit with a standard ar lower.

The upper will work with an AR lower, this kit does not have the parts to finish a standard ar lower.

Does the KS-47 bolt/barrel use a "standard 0.125" bolt face depth"?  I'm wanting a 12.5 inch barrel and the only one I've been able to find is through another manufacturer (Faxon).  I'm trying to determine if this barrel would be compatible with the KS-47 upper/bolt.

Barrel:  Faxon

From their website:  "Note: Faxon 7.62x39 barrels are manufactured to use a standard .125" bolt-face-depth bolt. Ensure you use the proper bolt face depth. Do not use with a .136" face depth bolt."

In other news; I sent the form 1 for my stripped lower off today.

I would imagine that people are not in a hurry, since they do not offer the stripped upper (yet) to make the lower useable. It's a paperweight until they offer stripped uppers. Many (like myself) are waiting for the "3-part essentials kit" to consolidate shipping costs.

I'd build my own upper in a heartbeat if PSA would make the stripped uppers available.

Once the uppers can be had, I think you'll see all the other parts moving quite well.

I'm not buying anything untill the uppers are available...I'll get that, then the rest.

I already have a fully functioning AR-47 that I built, so all I really need is the receiver set and BCG.

Upper, lower, and complete BCG...PSA has customized both the bolt and carrier to work with AK mags and yet still work with AR-47 mags.

For the PSA rep, may I ask some questions on your rifle with a suppressor?
1 Has the KS47 been tested with a suppressor?
2 Do you have the ability to add an adjustable gas block? I'd rather be the bullet launcher operator, not the mechanic.
3 Any concerns about back pressure or over pressure with a can?
4 Any info on whether bits of powder come back at the shooter?
5 Modern rifleman dot net had a recent story indicating the Russians will be producing a subsonic 7.62x39 round based on the 57-N-231U. I know this is speculation, but any comments on this with your rifle and a can?
6 What would be PSA's support for this config, especially if I had to add the gas block?

Thanks in advance for your patience with these questions. I am very interested in your product as a suppressed hog slayer.

From a functional standpoint, this is an AR, so all of the characteristics of a suppressed AR apply.

We do not currently offer a model with an adjustable gas block.

As a manufacturer, we cannot warranty any changes made by third parties.  However, there is a wealth of information here on AR15.com on how to tame the gas on suppressed ARs.  If you wish to add an adjustable gas block, there are many to choose from.  You will need to have a gunsmith install it and possibly modify the rail.

As production increases, we may have more suppressor friendly rail options.

Hope that helps.

Well, I got the form one in on my lower, I hope this thing isn't a turkey

I was going to use a faxon 10.5" and run suppressed the majority of the time.  Will likely try to use a govnah or adjustable gb.  Any thoughts on the right buffer/buffer spring?

Add me to the list of people waiting for stripped uppers (a left side charger might be cool), and bcg's/spare bolts.

Did you pull the barrel to cut it? How much of a pain was the hand guard and barrel nut to get loose?

I had a local shop do it, Diamondback Shooting sports(always excellent)in Tucson. The gunsmith didn't have any comments on weather it was a pain or not but I am assuming he did pull the barrel. I will ask him to confirm next time I see him.

That rail system does not require clocking the barrel nut, so it can be set to ideal torque, and the attachment method for the rail is pretty simple.
