Attached File Was hoping for a new one with my last order. Got dillo dust. I don't like Dillo Dust. I like hats |
I wear them until they're too worn for my taste. I prefer the UDE and FDE colors so I'm wearing my Tranquilo hat every day and when I need to wash it I wear my MBT hat.
Wear one pretty much everyday. When I have meetings downtown or have to play nice with corporate the hat is in my truck or on my desk waiting when I get done.
Keep a rotation of ‘decent’ and then downgrade to ‘weekend’ when my wife starts to bitch about dirty/faded/etc. Usually roll with OD or FDE/tan. Got about 3 black ones that I can’t seem to get down with that don’t see much use though. |
I've got the ude I wear at the farm and wear the khaki around town. Don't wear the black much.
My favorite is my drab hat. But I've been wearing my UDE regularly. I lost my first BuildAR hat at a bar after a day of pig hunting in Florida. Sad day, then my drab hat was lost for about three months in Alaska, but I got that back.
They are really nice fitting hats. I'll also swap them out for my Tigers hat, but it's filthy and they are horrible this year so it hides in shame. |
Wear my OD almost everyday if I wear an OD shirt I'll wear my FDE. Can't find another hat that fits the same.

I wear my mine so regularly, some people don't recognize me without it.

I've worn a couple of mine out over the years. I tend to just rotate through various gun hats. Right now I'm killing off a BCM hat but I'm sure I'll go back to a Larue hat soon enough. Just got one in my last order so it will get worn out soon.
I will wear them every day when they aren't sized for an 8 year olds head - until then I just have them in a tall stack and wish that they fit.
I wear a couple very quite often, however there are some with unique embroidery on the back that sit on the shelf and look cool.
Always go for my khaki hat, rides on my headrest in the car for easy access. Have a black one hanging on my locker at work just to piss off my liberal co-workers...

Daily wear a couple of UDE hats. My embroidery hats only come out when I put on a clean shirt and go to town.
I’ve caught a couple double takes when some people come walking through the dealership and see the hat or stickers The owner likes the stickers though. His son was airborne.

I once heard of a guy having his beautiful wife overnight ship his lucky hat to Shot show because he forgot it. And then.....

You guys that say they don’t fit must have enormous craniums. I wear a 7 3/4 hat and the LaRue hats fit me pretty well. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/26644/C1407A97-4344-4F51-96E9-76338EA85501-553785.jpg View Quote |

When I got my tOBR, I almost cried when I dug through the swag to find no hat.
That’s ok, I’d just put that one on a shelf. Wouldn’t be in my rotation. Wore a tan LaRue on my summit of Mt Marcy, but it was soaked an hour into my trek and combined with the weight of my massive melon, caused me to topple head first back down the mountain. Just kidding. It was 70 degrees when I left base camp at the dam at 7am, the hat was soaked with sweat when I entered the alpine zone around 11. The temp had dropped to 50. I couldn’t put that ice cube back on my blazing head for summit pics. I kick myself retrospectively for that. |
I have one of each color. I don't care for black hats so I don't wear that one.
My UDE had faded weird along the bill seam.... sweat seemed to change the dye color a bit. Prefer my OD for daily wear.
I wore mine daily in the field as a BP Agent but I lost it while chasing a subject.

It's not that the circumference is too small. For me at aleast, it's like putting on a yarmulke because it's too shallow and covers only about half of what a New Era hat does. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I had one once, got lost when I went to college. Interesting feature the sunglasses loops on the side. Somedays I wish I had it but oh well I'll be bald soon enough.

So it's not necessarily a LaRue hat, but I've made it my own. http://i63.tinypic.com/2u43ti1.jpg View Quote |
