Hey guys I got to make a final decision on a barrel for a project.
I'm doing a SPRish upper and want to stay with a 16in barrel. I was originaly going to just use the current barrel I have which is a 16in 1/9 twist. I'm not sure what type it is, someone told me it was a "govt" profile barrel somone else said it was an HBAR. Either way it's thick under the handguards and than tapers down to the same size as an M4 barrel(no cut out though). Anyway I don't want to go any heavier then this barrel if I don't have to, but I can't find one thats the same but with a 1/7 twist. So I got to thinking about what the weight of an SPR cotured barrel would be in comparison with the SPR barrel cut down to 16inches. This is being set up as pretty much an urban sniper rifle/CQB gun, so it can't get to heavy. I also want to stay away from midlength barrels, I'd rather keep the carbine gas system. Thanks for the help.
