Got the Royal with 20" threaded barrel. Not the best time to be buying, but I miss having a nice .22 in the safe...

Reccomend some good glass?

Definitely going to get a can for it also...

Will post pics when I pick it up...

Tell me all I need to know...

I picked this one up, 457 Scout, 16.5" barrel, last December and immediately bought a Sparrow.    Two more months..............

I went with the fully adjustable peep from CZ.

Two questions:

1) What are you going to use i for (Bench,NRL22,Casual target or hunting)?
2) What is you budget?

I picked up a Scout several months back. Slapped a 2.5x Ultralight Leupold on it and just picked up my Defcan22 for it. She's a sweet ride

You'll need a scope that permits parallax adjustment to relatively short distances.  Most centerfire scopes get you down to 50yds.  I'd suggest one that resolves down to 10yds.

I picked up an Athlon Midas Tac 6-24×50.  My 457 is used as a trainer for my LR setup.  I wanted a similar reticle, same bolt throw, same trigger weight.

1. Was planning on just casual target and perhaps small game hunting. Hadnt really thought about it, maybe the occasional competition or arfcom contest.

2. $300-$500 for scope...

I have a 457 American that is great fun to shoot.
I also ordered the threaded barrel for it so I can slap my Mask on it (when it gets out of jail).
I put a Bushnell Engage 3-12 on it.

Shooting Aguila Super Colibri out of this thing @ 100 yards is super fun, just for shits and giggles.  It's like lobbing a silent, tiny mortar.

The 6-24 has parallax down to 10 yards and the 4-16x is down to 20 yards. I would say stay with those two models for the parallax and the reticle.

Thanks for the info/reccomendation. That actually appears to be an excellent scope.

I received a shipping notice today, so hopefully pick up the rifle this weekend.

Check out the Bushnell Engage line of scopes as well.

They track beautifully even after dialing all the way up and back down.
After seeing how repeatable they were I bought one for my three favorite CZ's.

That looks a bit high. If it were mine, as low as I could get it.

Thanks, I haven't had a chance to go shoot yet, but it feels pretty good to me. Just messing around with it in the backyard, I can get a decent check weld and see through the scope pretty good.

I used to have an old Mossberg .22 that was my Dad's, ( I ended up giving it back to him, which kind of spurred this purchase). The scope on that one was just an old Sears rimfire model. I always thought it was too low when I would shoot it, so I went with some higher rings on this one, but I didn't anticipate needing the riser to go from a dovetail mount to a picatanny. Probably should have done some more research on the rings before I bought them...

I'll give it a go and see how it works out. I'm sure that 30mm rings with a dovetail mount are out there.

I dont known what to tell you except congratulations.

I do know that I just put and order in for the 457 varmint today.

Wanted a bolt action 22lr I felt would match the quality of the Model 41 I just bought.
