What class am I in?

Hey guys. I am fairly new to three gun and I can't quite seem ti figure out which class I fall in per the rules.

I typically run an Ar with Aimpoint, a 1911 single stack, and an 870 pump shotgun. Is this limited, Tac optics?

I have read the rules for different matches I have been in and I normally just decide which to put down based on the rifle I am using. Is this the right way to do it?

Most rules are now placing non-magnified red-dots in with iron sights in Limited. Looks like that is where you would fall, but it really depends on the rules of the match you are attending. Shooting Limited with a pump shotgun and a 8-10 round pistol may put you at a disadvantage. It will be fine to get started, but most in that division will be running pistols with 15-20 round mags and semi auto shotguns.

you are asking about division, not class. There are some 3g governing bodies that take into account skill level groups (aka classes).

thats the only way to do it; if one gun doesnt meet the specs of a division, you shop around until you find one.

If you have a .308 (AR-10, M1A, Garand) you would be in heavy metal.
