The plans are beginning to start for our new house (wife) and shop (me). The are both going to be steel buildings and around the same pad size 30' x 60'. In the barn/garage/shop I am planning of sectioning off the back 15' or so for the man cave of my dreams. I must combine all my hobbies; Guns, reloading, electronics, computers, radio, beer, and sports. So far my inspiration is as follows.
Either way here is the future view from my front door 
And plenty of little SOTAs around 
So if you have any experience in building steel homes I am all ears. I have built a couple steel buildings but just as shops/barns. I am mostly wondering about insulation. |

It will be glorious!
I'm trying to work on the same thing though it is taking some time...and it is not all that big...and up until a few weeks ago it leaked.

have a few friends that have done that, and I considered the same before finding the farm we're on now.
The Duggars (19+ kids and counting) bought 2 Steel Building Kits and put them together to build their monster house. (daughters watch on DVD and can't remember season that features the build) I love the idea, and have another buddy considering it as well.....I think it makes good sense! |

I'm glad you posted those pics of inspiration. I always feel bad if I have to post a pic of my stuff because I don't want some of you with more ghetto shops, shacks, accomodations to feel bad. Now I can fit right in.....
