More photos, videos, and what little info seems to be available is there on the last few days of his blog. I'm still interested to see what becomes of the Xiegu X1MkII but this looks kinda neat in it's own way. Obviously built into a mobile radio chassis for easy mobile installation. Looks like it has full computer control though so might make an inexpensive QRP platform for someone looking to try out an SDR or computer controlled transceiver. It's apparently available as a kit but not as an assembled radio at this point. |

EBay. Ham classifieds etc. Most used ham stuff on ebay the sellers are smoking crack selling, i.e. used for $50 off new. But you can find deals, just set a limit on what you are willing to pay. I got the 817 for ~300 a year or two back, and I got a ft897 for $450 as well. The seller said it was flaky on HF, I gambled and turns out it needed 2 seconds of soldering on the HF connector to fix it.... |
