So far, the plant is doing well under the grow light. I turn the light on when I get up, and off shortly after sundown.

See them reaching toward the light? could also rig up some way to have the light directly over top of them. They would grow thicker and more robust, and not pull to one side as much.  Miracle Grow: Mix it in a quart jar until it is so pale blue you can barely see the color. Water with that about once a month unless they start getting pale. Pruning: It will help them if you will go in and cut the top third (at least) off of the tall stems. This will cause them to branch and thicken up. (But the closer light will be of great benefit as well.) Pinch it, wash it and stash it in the fridge in a plastic baggy (open) with a damp paper towel in there. Put it in your tea, lemonade, sprite, whatever you drink. (Bourbon?  )

Ok, I pinched the tops off. I have some MG plant food from before, but haven't used any yet. How/when would I apply this kind?
 I bunched the parts that I pinched off, made a hole in the dirt with my finger, then put the clippings in there.  |

You want nice fat, strong stems. Don't be afraid of pinching them back hard. Don't know if those bits will root...maybe but I've never tried that in the way you are doing it. Miracle Grow: Mix a little bit in a quart jar until it is so pale blue you can barely see the color. Water with that about once a month unless they start getting pale. Mint doesn't need a lot of fert. |

That was my original plan, but it's too bright for when I'm trying to sleep.
Regarding the plant food, it's clear liquid. I had a 12oz jar, so I put one squirt in there and watered the plant with it. |

OP puts maximum effort into growing a weed that most use fire to remove from planting beds

My late mother, being of middle eastern heritage, used mint all the time. A Syrian salad with mint and lemon juice dressing (eaten by scooping it up with Syrian bread) is delicious and a big part of my youth. Her plants threw outside along with her grape leaves but they were a broad leaf type not seen here on this post.

Hopefully for safety's sake you've got somebody checking in on you once in a while! Will think on this. Might have to drop you off a fresh Mints On Wheels delivery every month or something.

Yep, both of my adult kids live here, and we all pitch in on the house. I don't even leave my room some days, but they hear my music, or me shooting from the bathroom window. My son is in IT, and mostly works from home, so I'm rarely here alone. Mints On Wheels.

Well, I didn't follow your advice.
 I decided to do the opposite of my original plans, and planted it out under those Cedars. (It's in shade right now, noon, from the Cedar branches). I hope that it takes over that whole area, since it doesn't look like my little ferns will make it. If it does thrive, then I'll eventually bring some inside again.
