Help me! I'm an addict. I can't stop buying every cool ass flashlight I see! My bills are paid so its not like I am starving the kids I don't have or anything.

I just ordered a RA Clicky Executive. I ordered it with the black clip and the 170 lumen LED with the tighter beam. Looks like a great little light. The fact that its programmable is just too cool. I like having a really low level light available in the same package. This is what made my Fenix lights so nice. This light just looks like its on a differently level entirely.

I chose not to buy the tactical since I like to throw my lights into my pocket. The flush button is just less trouble for me.

Any personal experiences with this light?

RA Executive

I think a Nitcore or Novatac is next on the list, but that won't be for another day or two....... I mean a month or two.

I think you will like it

Very similar to the one I posted in your thread- http://www.cpfreviews.com/NovaTac-EDC120P.php

Basically, HDS made the EDC lights, then Novatac bought them, and upgraded and is selling the new version (basically brighter, few more options)

Then HDS/RA got together and whatever happened, happened, but a lot of similarites

Unfortunately, I think the Novatac will be my next light. Its just so cool! The RA executive is usually 140 lumens. The one I ordered will be 170 lumens.  The Novatac is supposed to put out 120 lumens.

It will be 2 weeks before they ship the semi custom RA. I am going to have the shakes until I get my fix about 3 weeks from now!

Oh! Hell! Being bored sucks. Just found another one I just have to have. Good thing I can't afford any more lights this month!

Aeon

There goes my spending money next month.

Don't tell me you guys don't get on a flash light buying spree once a year!

I bought one of the older style ones a while ago for a chick, she still has it and likes it, but I have no use for a cr2 flashlight
built great tho, very, very tough

I do however really like the lummi flashlights- rechargable "toys"

can not get smaller and brighter

You should have sprung for the limited edition RaClicky Titanium.  Only $650...but oh so worth it

I can't justify that in my mind. The non titanium works just as good. I am not into unobtanium as much as most. Just high quality stuff when I can afford it.

In no way a bash, just wondering what I'm missing.

Why not go for something like the Olight T10
the Olight is smaller, cheaper, brighter and cheaper.

Just curious.

The Olight looks like a nice light. A slight improvement over my tried and true Fenix lights.

Right now I have chinese lights coming out of my ass. Lots of Fenix, maratac, and other cheaper lights from name brand stores. I have three surefires left after selling and giving away a few. A few streamlights as well. Just bought a Quark on a recommendation and its a decent light. Not the big improvement on quality over my Fenix lights I was expecting.

I wanted to spend some bucks and get a really nice, higher end EDC light. I like the features and the design. I seriously doubt that the Olight will be significantly brighter than the RA clicky. Fenix and several other mid range manufacturers use the LED manufacturer specs for the LED and not the real output of the light. I expect this light to be excellent in every possible way.

There are a couple more lights that I have my eyes on for next month when I get paid again.

I like flashlights.

The only thing that saves me is I like AA lights.

That cuts down the choices.....fortunately.

I've carried a T10  for over a year now; outside of some edge wear on the anodizing its good as new, and has been excessively handy to have around.  I also picked up the T15 tube (to use an AA battery instead of the CR123) as a 'just in case'; it won't run as bright or as long on the AA, but still creditable.

Just got my RA clicky executive yesterday. Didn't bother to check the mail until today so I had a nice surprise in the mailbox.

This flashlight is easily the nicest light I own. I have not started to modify the settings because it is just about perfect the way it is. It has the smoothest transition from the hot center to the good quality flood of any light I have ever seen. Flawless. If there are any inclusions I would have to stare for hours to find them. This light is the real deal.

My Fenix TK10 is slightly brighter but runs two batteries. It also has a brighter flood, but the quality of the beam is not even close.

The RA is considerably larger than the Fenix P2D I have sitting on my shelf. Its a much more substantial light with a deeper reflector. The Fenix is a light weight compared to it.

My only complaint. The pocket clip is butt assed ugly. Works great so it will do until I find something nicer. What a great light. Its going to need a holster some day. A better pocket clip, and lots of batteries because I am not going to be able to stop fiddling with it.

I may have to pick up one of their twistys just for the hell of it. I am really happy I did not go with the Tactical version. The executive button sticks out just enough to make it user friendly. I would not like the bigger button for pocket carry.

The interface is easy to get used to. Just play with it some and you will have it figured out quick. The programming may not be quite as easy. Not sure I want to mess with perfection.

The founder of HDS knows his shit.  The old LED headlamp rocked in it's day, as did the old EDC series.  I wonder if he's still working with NOVATAC?

I am not so good at beam shots. This is the best I could do. I used -2 exposure to try and tame the light. It was just a white blob without underexposure. These pictures do nothing to show the nice spill light that is illuminating the entire hallway.

based on that collection, i will consider you an expert and ask your opinion on your favorite "executive" size light... i keep looking at the surefire (grew up with them, owned nothing but them) but it seems like your newest toy is way better... thoughts for a super-compact size light, 2+ output settings is a plus for this size in my book for sure.  thanks in advance

Clicky or twisty?

The RA light I just bought is the nicest light i have ever held in my hands. Surefire makes the E1B and Titan(twisty)that are both very nice lights. If you don't want to spend that kind of money, fenix makes the P2D or PD20. The Fenix P1D is a twisty light that has great output and very small size. The Muyshondt Aeon is a small light that really performs. Its a twisty as well.

If you don't want to spend big bucks and get a dependable clicky light, the Fenix LD10 is a great little light. Not as much output, but very bright.

I am looking at buying a Nitecore EX10 as I mentioned in another thread. Looks like a nice light. The Lummi Orb Raw is a very, very little light that puts out 20/200 lumens. I have to have one of those as well.

LOL - "Custom Titanium Ra Clicky: $650.00 (Part number: CtcUFE)"  I was expecting hundreds, but not six or seven hundred.

I'm guessing you're also over on www.candlepowerforums.com.
