if you guys eat a good bit of the freeze dried stuff, buy yourself a freeze dryer. costs more upfront but you will quickly make your self a lifetime supply for MUCH less and MUCH better quality.

yes i have the original harvest right machine. the new ones are a lot easier to use. as for a small family, it's just me and the wife. we used it a good bit as we were looking to put back some long storage preps. we now have plenty to take us close to a year depending on how much we eat. infact we made as much as we could easily store. i figure if we had bought the FD foods comparable to what we put back i'd be at least 5x the cost of what i have in the raw foods and machine. i also have better quality food than pretty much any of the over salted crap on the commercial market.
i will say this, there IS a learning curve and there is a commitment you need to make to financially make it work. if you just want to put back some rice and beans for a rainy day this isn't your machine. if you want to produce quality long term storage meals or foods in qty.. this is as good as it gets. |
