Hello all.  Hoping to find some ideas or suggestions.

My dad has a nice bird box up on a pole for martins. Over the last year or two, black birds ( starlings ) has over-run the box.

The box is on a hinged post. And even though he lowered the box to the ground, the black birds have taken it over.

Any ideas or suggestions ?

Thanks
CVH

been a landloard for close to 40 years.  Airgun or .22.  Kill 'em dead.

They are the worst enemy a Martin could have.  The hawks, snakes and owls aren't that numerous.

Yep, Pellet Rifle or low velocity 22.

Tell him to look online for "Starling resistant" entry holes.. They are crescent shaped openings, and the Martins can easily get in, but the Starlings can't. Then while the Starlings are sitting there trying to get in, take the previous suggestions and blow them away with a pellet rifle (I use a .22 cal RWS M34).
