A very special heartfelt thanks to all our Veterans. You are all heroes to me. My family has served in the Civil War, WW1, and WW2. When I hear their stories and share their emotions, I wish so much that I, too, could have served our great nation in such a noble, proud way.

Religons aside...

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

I don't consider myself a hero, just a broken down retired old infantryman. But thanks Goatboy, and thanks to all vets from all services and times.

To my father who served in the US Navy, WWII.
This man walked in Hiroshima two weeks after the bomb was dropped.
He also walked thru Nagasaki about six weeks after that bomb dropped.

No mention was ever made of radiation poisoning or any other warnings.

Fortunately he's still with me and will be 83 years old 12/26/01.

I served US Navy 6/58-8/65.

Juan (GoatBoy) thanks very much for this forum.

Many if not most of us would agree that there are few heroes here.  Most of our heroes are under White Crosses or have been reclaimed by the sea and rest in eternal peace.

I served in the 82nd Airborne during peacetime but it sure made me understand and appreciate all the vets past, present and future, especially the ones that paid the ultimate price to ensure our freedom.  Well said GoatBoy.

Airborne!

My dad died 2 years ago today.  He went into the Army at 15 in 1949 and ended his career in the Navy as a Corpsman in 1969.  He would have like this.  Because of his example both my brother and I are veterans.  Thank you.

QCMGR, during my over seven years active duty, consistently the most decorated sailors were Navy Corpsman.
There's many a Marine and Sailor walking the streets today due to Navy Corpsman.
