Why do some States use LRS Unit and some states use LRS detatchment?  I guess there are all detachments ,I think Texas also uses LRSU... Have they deactivated these units in most states? They changed our old unit ito an attack helo. group AH-64's replace the last or the UH-1,s and they held on to the Blackhawks,  They busted up the teams and reassigned the memembers to BS jobs like POL and stuff like that... I think that LRP in Guard units is becoming a lost art, Lord knows I miss it! " Drive on DAWGS.. brothers in the eye of the storm"

All LRS units are just that LRSU, but you have LRSC's (Companies) that are supporting Corps, and LRSD's which are supporting Divisions.  Now to really make it strange, When I joined my LRS unit, it was D Troop(LRS), 238th Cav, yet the guidon said D, 151, and still said D-151 when we changed to LRSD, 151st Inf.  This was of course to show the linage of the unit back to D Co (Ranger) 151st, IIFF, RVN, and was im sure a local thing, not official, just like the "Combat Infantry Company" streamer, which at one point we did qualify for, but was made a permanant award by the INARNG HQs for the same reason.  (IIRC)
