Has anyone tried either an 8 or a 10 round 1911 mag in a Safariland mag pouch?  Not the open top pouches of course (a la IPSC or IDPA), but rather the ones that snap closed.

Thanks.

For what its worth, a SIG P220 8-rounder fits in the molded 9mm/.40 Safariland mag pouches. The SIG 7-rounder has roughly the same dimensions as a 1911 7-rounder. I use the 9/40 pouch because I usually carry the P220 with this rig, but sometimes we train with Sims, and they don't have conversions for the the 220, so I use my P229. Basically, everything I have put in this pouch manages to stay fairly secure.
