Why'd you lock the 'busting parkers' thread... it was not graphic nor was it inappropriate.
What gives?

I just wanted a response elaborating you motivation... is it safe to assume I'll not be getting one?

It's ironic that the Gun sites are host to some of the most Tyrannical Fellows anywhere.

Gunbert,

It wasn't your topic I locked, but I'll say it again...

From the Forum Conduct Guidelines:

2d) No inappropriate topics. This includes all of the above and further covers topic titles of a racial nature, sexual nature, or violent nature. (This applies to animal cruelty as well.) The "Babe of the Day" and "Hunk of the Day" threads are no longer welcome topics.

It fits the description.  It's locked and will remain so unless a staff member decides otherwise.

markm,

This is someone else's sandbox.  There are rules and as we all know, rules is rules.

Thank you for mentioning that I didn't author the post... as if that somehow makes locking the thread different.

You may be right, this is sombody else's sandbox, but that somebody is not you. That topic was tamer than 90% of the stuff that gets discussed around here, so stop hiding behind your rule #2d.  It was posted in the correct forum... does it offend your sensibilities that some of our members that are police have caught people in compromising situations in parked cars?  What the hell is inappropriate about discussing that?  There was no lewd description of sexual acts, no racist comments, no bagging on civilians by the LEO's involved, or vice-versa.  In other topics on this board, we discuss at length how we made homemade fireworks (re: EXPLOSIVES) when we were younger.  We talk about the pros and cons of dropping the age of sexual consent to 16 or lower. We pontificate on what a 55 grain projectile moving at 3000 feet per second will do to a human body.  We make dead pools for Christ sake!

I'd like you to specifically identify the part of the post that was offensive, please, as I am at a loss.

Gunbert,

See the prior explanation for the locking of the topic in question.  It fits Rule 2d description.  It's locked and will remain so unless a staff member decides otherwise.

As for this not being my sandbox, that's true.  But I do happen to be one of the keepers of the sand rake and the pooper scooper for this particular corner of the box.  It's a dirty job with no percs, but someone has to do it.

dave_g,

hey sorry i started that topic, i certainly didn't intend to cause any problems on my favorite site/forum.

i didn't think it would evolve into anything inapropriate either. just thought the experience would've added some light heartedness to this forum.

....as i'm typing this i just noticed there's two dogs doin it in my backyard.

cheers!

cleaner,

You haven't caused any problems.  I've been trying to send out emails concerning the topic, but I've either sent three emails each to you ands Gunbert, or my ar15.com mail ain't workin'.

Suffice to say that while the two posts that made it weren't too bad, historically, by the the fifth or sixth reply, it gets pretty graphic.  The policy on such topics was changed fairly recently in order to clean the forum up and reclaim it from the children who were beginning to treat it like a personal porn site.  Sometimes you have to go Zero-Tolerance to maintain order.

Sorry if you understood otherwise.

Sorry Dave but I do not agree with your logic on this one.

Perhaps we should arrest every male because every 10000th or so is a rapist....

Not my logic and I didn't make the rules.  No topics of a sexual nature allowed.

Thecleaner, your topic was not at all inappropriate, Dave_G was just being a bit overzealous in his quest to purge anything of a sexual nature.  Unfortunately, your comment about the dogs is of blatantly sexual nature, so let's hope Dave doesn't look at this thread again or he'll have to lock this one too.

If you've tried to email me, Dave, your mail must be down... however I would not mind a private discussion of the matter, if you care to shoot me a message.

I'm locking this thread because it's not going anywhere anyhow.
