Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Residency and ownership legal issues. Can someone give me a hand.

Ok so this is my dilemma.  Ive been looking into purchasing an ar-15 for awhile now, and im concerned with some leagal issues.  Right now I've got an Illinois address but I'm still a student and my legal permanent address is in New York.  Will the fact that I'm technically a NY resident affect my ability to legally purchase an AR-15 model? I'm going through the legal section, and im reading up as much as i can but it's a slow process.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
