RIYADH (Reuters) - A Saudi court of cassation upheld a ruling to behead and crucify a 22-year-old man convicted of raping five children and leaving one of them to die in the desert, newspapers reported on Tuesday. The convict was arrested earlier this year after a seven-year old boy helped police in their investigation. The child left in the desert after the rape was three years old, Okaz newspaper said. International rights groups have accused the kingdom, the birthplace of Islam, of applying draconian justice, beheading murderers, rapists and drug traffickers in public. So far this year about 40 people have been executed in Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia, crucifixion means tying the body of the convict to wooden beams to be displayed to the public after beheading. http://in.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idINIndia-43639120091103 |

It is a bit on the crazy side, not sure if I condone it.
Will say this though.. that has got to be one POWERFULL deterrent to commiting such a crime. They don't screw around! |

wow i disagree crucify... THEN behead him. Ayup, this. |

For once I agree with the Saudis.
Just skip the beheading. Bet they don't have many child rapists in the Kingdom. Certainly not the colonies of sex offenders we have here. |
yep
If he is guilty proceed as the judgement has ordered If he got the screws put to him by a scared 7yr old that would be tragic. |
If they had a fair and unbiased legal system (i.e. what generates the convictions), then I'd be totally in favor of crucifixion and THEN beheading for child rapists and murderers.
But, given the current Saudi system, I'd hate to be a woman, for example, who was accused of child murder or sexual abuse, by some Saudi religious cleric or rich "prince" or other powerful person. |
IF he is guilty then - i agree completely, (can we add a random gunshot to one of the kneecaps also?)
IF he is not guilty - he is screwed and will serve as a lesson to people who would do something like this. |
No problem with it, I would leave off the beheading, just nail his ass to a wood pole and let him hang there and suffer until he finally dies, then let the buzzards pick his flesh from his bones, preferrable while he is still alive, show it live as well....
god damn worthless fuckers.... |
No problem here either... pouring boiling oil over him would work for me too.

i say cut is balls off and let him bleed out, then stop the bleeding right before he dies, fix him up in a hospital for couple weeks then strap him down and CNC machine and mill of .005 " cuts with a 6inch insert cutter until his fucking head is gone

I'm all for it. I wish they would record it and post it on the internet.

That ought to be the first lesson in GeoPolitics 101 in college these days. |

What, no beat down first? No caning? Oh well, at least he won't have parole as an option...
Nice. Kind of insulting to me though. The crucifiction is too much because its just a PR stunt.
Beheading is enough. |

Even a werewolfe deserves a fair trial. Then, well, Vlad the Impaler was really on to something with his technique for public executions. His victims actually lived for a while after being put up on display.
I would be in greater support of the good, old fashioned crucifixion - without the beheading. They said it was a very slow, agonizing way to die. Sometimes took a few days.
Quoted: Quoted: wow i disagree crucify... THEN behead him. Above. So you have no qualms about the fact that "justice" in most Middle Eastern countries is pretty elusive, and the guy may have been innocent? |
Can we send our rapists and murderers over there to stand trial?
Political crimes? Exile. This? Insufficently unpleasant.
God is Great! |
The punishment fits all right! As others pointed out it is backwards though, crucifiction THEN beheading would be better!
However I found this a bit off: The convict was arrested earlier this year after a seven-year old boy helped police in their investigation. I can't really imagine the Saudis having a CSI team running all over the place. Did it only take a testimony of a 7 year old boy to condemn this guy? I am trying to dig up more on the trail. I am interested in learning a bit more about how he was convicted. Theres something about beheaded guys that makes filing an appeal a bit difficult. |
Beheaded and crucified for raping a child - I have no problem with that. The sorry POS is just using up good air that someone else could be breathing. I wonder how many "activists" would have a different opinion if the child that got raped was theirs?

You would have out done Mengele. |
I feel tempted to say we as people should be more civilized than to have to do this and yet at the same time, what he did––if it is indeed true––is so inexcusable. To leave damn near babies out to die in the desert.
You guys are all wrong. This is another instance in which the White House should intervene and have people over for some beers.
For child molesters/rapists of any kind, I favor impalement. The old way, where they'd stick a blunt spike in place (guess where!!), hoist the stake up, and let body weight slowly carry out the "penetration".

If I had more confidence in the ability of Saudi courts to protect the rights of the accused, then I'd have no problem with this.
But in Saudi Arabia this "conviction" could just as well be due to the fact the guy got on the wrong side of the wrong people, not that he actually diddled little kids. |

I second this! Quoted:

Guilty or innocent?
Don't know and can't do anything about it, but I wish to God mu government do do something similar to scare the fuck out of the scum roaming the streets of this country and make them think very carefully about the consequences of their action. A few executions being shown on prime time TV and then, maybe, my world will be a safer place for children. Personally I'd lash them with barbed wire whips then roll them in salt then lash them again and keep on until they bleed out or their heart goes, but maybe I'm too fucking liberal...... |
This is absolute bullshit. Beheading someone before crucifixion defeats the purpose of the crucifixion. And they're not even using nails. The ancient Romans are rolling over in their ashes.
